Maybe, windows 8 still appears as a startup option as if its dual boot, but I can't access it

the windows~bt folder is 9GB & the Windows folder is 18GB, does that seem normal?

Looking at the D drive, there is a windows folder there

I'm starting to think you're right, there must be 2 OS's on here. what is the "boot tab" for me to bring up C/Windows/system32/msconfig

there's a Windows folder on my D drive that has 32GB

Don't guess tell me what's in there

Go to partition in C, then windows, then system32, then msconfig

Click the start button, type in "msconfig" (without quotes) and press enter. This should bring up the msconfig tool. Then take a screenshot of the "Boot" tab.

OK, click on the Windows 8 OS, should highlight it, click on set as default tab, then click apply at bottom, then reboot

We'll he was quite capable of providing google drive URL's in his earlier posts to help diagnose whats going on. Personally I prefer a screenshot to help see whats going on but if you don't want them that's fine. I'll leave the rest to you guys.

Oh boy, it won't but into Windows 8. Got the "your PC ran into a problem, we collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you" blue screen. But it's 100%compete & not rebooting. (From my cell phone now)

Boot manager is diagnosing after restarting into but manager, but couldn't repair.

I was able to get into Windows 10 through advanced options

One shot of disk management is enough
@fiddystorms, do you have ISO you can put on partition Win 8 was on, there may be a defect with your SSD

@fiddystorms, go back to msconfig and set win 10 as default, apply, reboot and answer above

I'm considering making an LTSB copy to put on the SSD to save space, but I could just run with Win10 on my HDD. It's certainly odd that Win8 is on the HDD. I bought the PC with Win8 installed and it was supposed to be on the SSD. it certainly booted up like it was on an SSD. not sure how in the hell it ended up on the HDD

No I believe your SSD is messed up, 28 GB is nowhere near large enough for OS and programs, put another OS on where win 8 was and see If you can exchange that SSD, or at least you will have a Win 10 OS you can troubleshoot from.:p

Did he post the screenshots or not?

Im not clicking on random Google Drive links.

For some odd reason you have your SSD partitioned.

Go to disk management, look at the your SSD drive (You should figure it out by size. If not, properties will also tell you) Your C: should be around 28GB and whatever else should be the 100GB. That 100GB, delete it. Nuke it. f**k it if it has Windows 8. Then click on the 28GB partition, expand volume and done. Dont even touch your HDD.
