MAK Key activation for windows 7 64bit Enterprise edition

    You are indeed correct, my apologies for the brainfart ;) In fact I was recently browsing the Volume Licensing FAQs over at MS for more details, and forgot all about the requirement.

    But the talk was what will happen if to delete ei.cfg on that disc. Or to mount install.wim and explore what images are inside.

    OK, never mind, took and mounted it myself from this disc:
    7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_enterprise_en-us_VL_OEM_Enterprise-GRMCENVOL_EN_DVD.iso

    Install.wim indeed contains only one image - of Enterprise edition.

    As in my message, there is ONLY ONE clg file on this disk - install_Windows 7 ENTERPRISE.clg

    So you know instantly without any need for mounting even to know it! - only ONE image

    Logically - yes, but with MS i never can be sure to use common sense.
