I installed the Windows81 WMC on the virtual disk (VMware) and we normally activated without any problems 100%. However, when the same WIN81 ISO installed on the local disk activation does not want me to do. Maybe someone knows a solution.
no need any software to make bootable usb just extract / mount the iso copy all content to ur pendrive reboot and boot via pendrive
What am I doing wrong, I can mount the wim but any of the other DISM commands i just get: Error: 0xc0000135 An error occured while attempting to start the servicing process for the image located at e:\mount Code: 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: <----- Starting Dism.exe session -----> 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: Host machine information: OS Version=6.2.9200, Running architecture=amd64, Number of processors=4 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: Dism.exe version: 6.2.9200.16384 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM.EXE: Executing command line: Dism /Image:c:\mount /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:D:\OS\8.1\Windows_8.1_EN-US_x64\sources\sxs /LimitAccess 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=3184 TID=456 Getting the collection of providers from a local provider store type. - CDISMProviderStore::GetProviderCollection 2013-09-08 11:14:48, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=3184 TID=456 Provider has not previously been encountered. You are trying to run DISM in Windows 8 to service a Windows 8.1 image. That won't work. You need to install Windows 8.1 (for example, Preview will do) and run DISM in there.
You are likely using the dism from Windows 8.0 or earlier. You need to use dism from 8.1 preview ADK or 8.1 ADK/RTM Jinx kel, you owe me a coke.
To make such an ISO I need to habe Windows 8.1 WMC installed and activated, right?! Am I correct on this?
Nope, no need, all you need is a WMC key already activated in win8, if you use your own *.dat files, make sure it was activated by retail key in win8Pro, if you use the *.dat file from me, it was retail activated.
Okay, nice. I'm eager to get this ISO stuff done and I'll give it a try. Can I use your .dat-files to get my ISO done but w/ my legit WMC key from Win8, right?! Sorry for asking ;] I just wanna make sure to do it right. What basis version do I need to take? Enterprise? Pro? CoreSingleLanguage?
Yup, you can use the *.dat files I provided. Use the Pro version, in the DISM command you can see it works on index 1, which is Pro, index 2 in the same wim is core.
What folders do I need? I see a 'mount' on E:\ and the install.wim on F:\. What else do I need? Maybe you could also put that info in the first post.
Made the Iso with my own WMC8 dat files and free WMC key, installed it on a VHD disk on the same Laptop and it did not activate. Btw does it make a difference if I install it on a VHD or a VM on the same machine where WMC 8 had been activated? Most probably I used a general installation key, added WMC and then it activated before MS closed the loophole. Don't remember it anymore. Will give it another try with your dat files. Due to the lack of working display drivers (dual graphics AMD+Intel) it hardly is any useful for me now, but I'm curious to have a look on it.
