    Hi All,
Just purchased an ADATA USB stick and in the manual there is a link for free software, in particular, OStoGO (operating system to go).

    Software Name: OStoGO.

Description: OStoGO assists you to convert Microsoft Windows Vista/7 Setup DVD to your USB Storage Device (e.g. USB Flash Drive, External USB Hard Drive, or SSD with USB port). Then you can install Microsoft O.S. via USB Booting instead of DVD Booting. OStoGO is an alternative solution to install OS for PCs and laptops without optical drives. Final release in: Nov. 2009. This release is compatible with Win XP/Vista/7.

Applicable products: All A-DATA USB storage products (purchased since July 2008) including all USB Flash Drives, CH/SH/NH series Portable Hard Drives, and SSDs with a USB port.

Features: OStoGO allowing you to convert Windows 7 setup system into USB Flash drive. Now, users can install Windows 7 directly via bootable USB Flash drive rather than via bootable DVD!

    Hope this helps.

    Regards khanIII

    So its ADATA only?

Or is it really a universal tool like HPs?

Thx for checking and making pics...

PS: Thats the 1st one i see thats based on GRUB. All others use Windows files, mostly 98 or ME. Must be a copyright thing...

    Hi all,

The DOS boot disk can be incorporated into PE 3.0 boot disk. Here is what I did:

    1. Format USB drive using the HP tool.
    2. Use mbrfix or similar tools to save sector 63 of the drive as BOOTSECT.DOS
place the file in the root folder of the USB drive.
    3. Configure mbr of the drive for use with PE 3.0
    4. Copy Win PE files to USB following WAIK instructions (skip the part involving diskpart).
    5. Add an boot entry in bcd.
You will get an UUID. Set the entry as the following:
The bcd should have an entry similar to this now:
    6. (optional)copy content of win7 CD to USB. copy the SLIC tool to USB. Then the drive can help flash BIOS, check SLIC from PE3.0(i386 only), and start win7 install.

    Hope this helps.

TheWiz, NoJuan999 (are the same?) and all responsible, would you update all the links on #1 post. I can't access urlisdown dot org, also the guide to use AFUDOS (support dot asus dot com)

Does HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool has any restrictions to work booting in a MSI BIOS ?
I just read some boot makers doesnt work well with some bios sectors...
