I have a strange problem I've never encountered before. Up until a few days ago, I haven't been able to open my audio devices menu. To my knowledge, I did not install any new drivers of sorts. I've tried through all the ways such as opening it through the control panel or right clicking the Sound icon on the task bar. I've already tried uninstalling the audio drivers and reinstalling, which helped it but as soon as i restarted it went back to doing the same thing, not opening.

I usually use this menu to switch between by usb headset and speakers. Without access to this, I can't switch the sound to my headset :( Please help!

Still, sounds like driver confliction to me...

Remove all drivers that have anything to do with audio, start command promt as admin, run sfc /scannow, restart then refresh all installed hardware from device manager.

Let me know how you get on.
