    Hello,

i got an old Toshiba Tecra A9 laptop, which was delivered with Windows Vista and has SLIC2.0. My goal: updating existing SLIC to 2.1 for Windows 7. It has a weird Intel bios, i tried tool oa2intel.exe and BT.exe, but both didn't work.
So i will mod the bios-dump manually in hexeditor. I found the coherent table in dump, so it should work simply replacing it.

I am wondering why the original table has Creator ID "TASM" instead of "MSFT". To my knowledge, Creator ID isn't necessary for decrypting digital signature. Original code:
    Code:
    53 4C 49 43 76 01 00 00 01 D3 54 4F 53 48 49 42 41 30 30 35 34 20 20 20 16 08 07 20 54 41 53 4D 00 00 01 04 00 00 00 00 9C 00 00 00 06 02 00 00 00 24 00 00 52 53 41 31 00 04 00 00 01 00 01 00 01 D1 F8 E2 2E 9E 56 65 20 B2 3C D6 8C A8 AB EE E9 1D D7 45 EB 6B 72 AD 45 B9 29 86 AE AA 8C 53 39 F4 25 BE B7 D3 F9 D8 F9 C1 90 AB F9 D4 05 60 A0 72 47 E6 F9 09 15 3F 60 C3 C7 0E 09 C9 D1 BC 1A 6E AF D4 7D F3 9D 5F 5A 51 1E 68 C9 F6 3D 90 F5 B0 34 F2 03 C2 9A 7D DD E7 52 4C E8 63 04 6B 00 A7 B5 AB C0 6F 35 E9 7A 14 D4 F4 4F 29 F1 6A 56 9B D7 45 81 F3 37 E3 A5 4B FD 53 5B 3C E9 A5 01 00 00 00 B6 00 00 00 00 00 02 00 54 4F 53 48 49 42 41 30 30 35 34 20 20 20 57 49 4E 44 4F 57 53 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 6B 16 3E 56 7F 50 EB 73 26 F5 11 A8 29 5E 21 20 A1 30 A4 B4 DE A9 B3 E3 74 A2 85 0E AA 5E D0 A7 94 C3 DC C2 0B 2A 02 29 53 2D D7 FE C2 F3 20 9D 85 3A E8 FA 41 BD 78 38 8E 32 12 79 A9 AD A4 3C 25 45 D6 44 1B EA 9B D0 B0 98 25 95 F5 67 06 A7 3E A4 77 3A 2F 42 A7 C4 14 A2 7F A0 2E 4E 0B 3A C4 72 5B CE 0F 37 1F FA D6 A5 FC 10 F1 D0 69 09 F5 40 83 6F 41 84 B4 E8 CB 06 D2 1A 72 40 7C 44

    Hello,

result: Didn't work. I tried several different mods (SLIC, microcode), the machine won't start up. Flashed back vanilla bios, works again.
So i guess there is a somewhere a checksum or another check integrated, which i can't find.

@Lutschpuppe bioses from Toshiba laptops have a digital signature if you modify bios file the laptop does not boot I say that because I tried to mod my bios with h2oeze to change default values in bios and laptop does not boot after reprogramming with modded bios, with stock laptop boots normally

A few years ago i installed a modded BIOS on a Toshiba Satellite, also from SLIC 2.0 to 2.1, and it worked. But this was Phoenix- or AMI-BIOS, the normal modding-tool did the work, no need of dumping or hex-editing.......
