Was there ever a folder with updates after servicing an install.wim? The updates are integrated into the mounted wim.
Again, I didn't know whether there was "ever a folder with updates after servicing an install.wim" or not. I'm sorry if it bugs you, but I don't have your knowledge, and the only way I can learn is by reading and/or asking. I have my Win7 SP1 ISO with no such folder. I have already tried wkeller's script and saw that an updates folder was created. That was that made me think that maybe something could be wrong (not in your script, rather on my side). Wouldn't have been better to reply in the first place that I was never going to see an updates folder because they were integrated into the mounted .wim? Anyway, thank you again, really. I wanted to try your tool because even though wkeller's is great, it creates a 4.8 GB ISO or so, and yours promised to fit on a standard DVD5, which is awesome.
Probably that tool creates an updates folder on the iso to install them online during setupcomplete or first login, simplix does it in another way.
Smaller overall iso -> being able to fit even an x64 AIO onto a FAT32 bootable media -> Install windows 7 in UEFI-CSM mode with GPT partitions without using "additional methods" like the UEFI:NTFS option in Rufus(small FAT partition at the end of the media containing all the boot info; ntfs partition with the 4GB+ iso).
Sorry for my enthusiasm, but It's really amazing that I started with a 3.02 GB W7 SP1 Pro ISO and I ended up with a fully up-to-date 2.79 GB W7 AiO ISO, because of that .esd compression.
Afaik this is the file that manages it: winpeshl.ini (boot.wim index 2 windows\system32 but, afaik, it is not inside an original MSFT iso, @murphy78 used it for his Diskpart and apply image project, with his huge AiOs it's set to show the cmd, to type "Menu" in to start the project) Code: [LaunchApps] %windir%\system32\wpeinit.exe %windir%\system32\netstart.exe X:\Setup.exe
Oh sorry I got confused as the tool names are quite similar Anyway the ISO is : Win7_Ult_SP1_Greek_COEM_x32 Also would I be able to install Win 7 on my Ryzen 3 1200 PC when I update the hotfixes and drivers with this tool?
And the win 10 iso filename? For ryzen 3 i am still modifying the scripts, what script do you want to run? I saw you mentioning "W7AIO_x64.cmd"? ps, can you check this in the boot.wim: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...nstall-esd-creation.79421/page-8#post-1545641 ? Another thing, in the simplix thread you mentioned using an x64 LTSC, so, are you sure about the win 7 iso you mentioned, it's x86.
It's been quite a long time but I think every bootable setup wim has this file minus the wpeinit and netstart. If you don't have it, I think it just opens a blank console or something. Sorry I don't remember exactly. It really has been years now.
@Enthousiast So I need to get the Win 7 Greek ISO and the LTSC ISO to the SOURCE_ISOs folder and then run the test_Win7_AiO_x86_el_GR.bat ? Im kind of confused why would I need the Win 10 ISO for? The ISOs I have : Win7_Ult_SP1_Greek_COEM_x32 Win7_Ult_SP1_Greek_COEM_x64 SW_DVD5_WIN_ENT_LTSC_2019_32-bit_English_MLF_X21-96424 SW_DVD5_WIN_ENT_LTSC_2019_64-bit_English_MLF_X21-96425
The win 10 iso will be the base for the new win 7 iso, to be able to boot the latest hardware and to use an install.esd. The iso's need both to be in the same desired language.
