I started this thread in the hope ( as always ) of having an intelligent and productive discussion on a topic that interested me , and ideally , could help and inform other readers . It is depressing to see it descend to the level of sniping .... " I know better than you " etc .....
It has nothing to do with sniping and more of someone misinforming people wthl nonsense. Not to mention pushing codec packs, which on the whole are no good for your pc.
Well, it all depends on what you are looking to play ........ For music I would recommend Aimp hands down the best music player available and it's free. For video, personally I use Zoom or Pot Player. Rule of thumb for me, If I have to download "codec packs" to view something then chances are I don't want that player. I haven't downloaded or needed a codec pack since Windows 98 and that was the nimo pack. Everything I download gets stored on my system on a separate drive, all music is converted to .mp3 and all videos are converted to .mp4, this way there is no loss of quality and the file sizes are manageable.
Well, I have been using MPC for some time, then MPC with K-Lite, because of better video quality, but eventually moved to VLC, because of better audio.
I use WMP with K-Lite and VLC - they do all jobs for me. I am using VLC more often - it just works better for subs ...
No. It has to do with someone asking a question, someone else (myself) answering it and being thanked for it and your jealousy about that and your prejudice against CCCP's logo. I have had ZERO problems with CCCP.
Why would someone want a player that does no more than VLC, but does cost extra? The free version does not play HD YouTube?
Question: I have been using VLC since it exists, and have almost always been quite happy with it. I also installed K-Lite Codecs, because I thought, I watch a lot of video from different sources... Do I not need K-Lite with Vlc? And definetly not with MPC? How do I increase the speed of a movie on MPC to 1.5x 2x ????
