Is there some setting/hack that would allow me to set a dial-up connection as metered? I'm aware of the native setting for Wi-Fi and was wondering if something similar could be enabled for dial-ups.

I'm on a severely limited plan and would appreciate any pointers

Nah.....want the OS to do it as efficiently as it does it for Wi-Fi. Was in Win 8; can't imagine why MS decided to remove it

Ok...found some settings in Group Policy that allow config of 3G, 4G and Wireless networks. Dial-up now behaving exactly like metered Wi-Fi: will monitor to see if behavior is maintained
