That's what im doing right now. Converting from ISO to VHD with WIM2VHD script from MS and mounting.I love native boot.Full hardware acceleration.
Has someone figured out how the HELL we're supposed to close Metro apps yet? I literally cannot find a way of doing it (without resorting to Task Manager which is extremely inefficient)...
The best way to install is burn ISO to DVD, then boot from DVD to install, and it'll let you choose your partition. When I mounted 8102 from win7, and run setup from there, it tried to install 8102 to my win7 drive.
Start Screen > Charm Menu > Settings > Power. It's bloody a long process now. They should have kept the user tile.
Or USB install (USB is less prone to errors ) Mouse over windows logo > Click Settings > Click Power > Profit
I heard it's either mouse to the bottom left, and then either wait or right-click. I saw him do that in one app, that's how he got the desktop charm menu (You know what we thought was the new start menu).
what size usb drive to make bootable win8, i try with kingston 4gb(3.75gb free) got error.. i`m extract with ultra iso.. fail with Windows 7 usb dvd tool.. any idea?
WDP x64 is 3.6GB, if the USB drive is formatted in FAT32 (or even FAT), it should fit just fine on a 4GB drive. I think NTFS takes up a "small", but nonetheless, part of the drive for storage, and a 3.6GB image on a 3.75GB drive... I think NTFS would leave you with less then 3.75GB :/ Edit: I formatted my 8GB USB to FAT32 and just drag/dropped the contents of the x64 iso onto my flash drive, booted it without problem (just incase that helps someone)
Meh, I just install Shutdown Control for the SIDEBAR. As for getting the START SCREEN to popup you have to place the mouse at the far left edge of your screen below the START button. Putting a mouse over the START will not bring it up I have noticed.
