Microsoft is actually telling you to get a new pc because they will not support "their" pc any more [sarcasm]You actually do not own your pc, your leasing it from Microsoft and Intel [/sarcasm]
Even the newest and expensive Microsoft Surface didn't apply to the today's standard of a mobile computing devices (Tablet, Smart Phone etc.) to be able to use it mobile at all areas because it didn't contain a SIM Slot and therefore 3G/4G/5G could not be used at all, while the mostly available WiFi is very limited in range to be usable!! In fact, there just a very few Tablets with SIM Slots available and working with Windows OS at all! The CPU of the cheapo Tablet I use is an Atom Z3735F (quad core) and simply works well with Windows 10 Home. As I explained in an other Thread/Post, I could not change to Pro because the Touchscreen will not work in W10Pro! And I could use the 3G all times and hardly ever use the WiFi at all! @Joe C: I think you mistakenly pointed to Microsoft instead of Apple, who all times dictates their User's and Payer's what to do with an Apple Product!
And it was only two years ago this month that Microsoft lured all these people into upgrading to Windows 10 by offering it for free. LOL.
You can still install it if you want but there are no updated graphics driver. Latest version is for Win8 or 8.1 I think. Blame Intel, not Microsoft.
So they changed the update model of the Anniversary Update to LTSB for these cpu's. That opens the door for projects to make any version update like LTSB.
Remember that tablets are closed "devices" not upgradable "PC"s...when the manufacturer no longer manufactures a specific device, Microsoft will drop *future* support (doesn't affect current support, of course.) If you build your own desktop box, however, you never have to worry again, imo, especially since Microsoft introduced activation via online Microsoft accounts.
Tablet + Windows = Dumb move Tablet + Andriod = Smart move I think that is all tablet users need to really know.
