    From Neowin:

Microsoft's OneDrive has become a lot more attractive today as the company has announced that it is lowering the cost for additional storage and increasing the amount of free storage too. Prices are being cut by 70%, making storage ridiculously cheap if you are in the need for cloud storage.

    Excerpts from OneDrive blog:

    (1) OneDrive will come with 15 GB for free (up from 7 GB)

    (2) All versions of Office 365 will come with 1 TB of OneDrive storage

For Office 365 Home ($9.99/mo) you’ll get 1 TB per person (up to 5 people), and with Office 365 Personal ($6.99/mo) and University ($79.99/4yr) you will get 1 TB per subscription. This is a great follow on to our April announcement that all OneDrive for Business customers will get 1 TB of cloud storage per person too.

    (3) We are dropping storage prices by over 70%

The new monthly prices will be $1.99 for 100 GB (previously $7.49) and $3.99 for 200 GB (previously $11.49).

    Theory #1:
Probably it was planned. Does anyone remember that Skydrive always came with 15G until W8 was released? They made the limit so they can release it a few months later and make a big hype and look like good guy gregs...

    Theory #2:
They made the limit because they didn't see how large of a failure W8 will be. They thought they'd run out of server space. Now that they see that W8 has a marginal market share and even they said it was a failure, they're giving the storage space back to the users. There's no point in running empty servers...

I wonder when we will get the additional storage.

I've 50GB (Office-365-Home etc.) atm, which is already more then enough.

    :)

Actually it was 25GB free even before the coming of Windows 8, but they lowered the storage space to 7GB for the less active accounts.
I was chancy to be using it when they made this decision and still having my 25GB free plan, for the time being I'm having 48GB in total (25GB Free plan + 20GB for 1 year bonus + 3GB for using it in a mobile device).
    But who uses that anyway.
