Guys, you know you can get free 36TB of cloud storage for free? SOURCE: http://yunpan.360.cn/?u=http://yunpan.360.cn/my#link
Means: ALL that HDD's were given to you as gift? Or did you've paid for it? If neither of that, hm........: HOW?
I somehow managed to open an account despite the fact that I can't understand the language, but they gave me "only" 360GB for free.
Will have to try it again. I completed my profile to ~73% or so, but somehow failed with the Client-Login. Thanks for the Info !
Question would be: How secure would be the Data (whatever is uploaded to that space!!) on that chinese space? 360GB is given by default and really would be enough for 'normal' use! Those TB's are only for those who 'dealing' with that terrible amount of data! For to use from home, in Thailand it would be simply to slow and to expensive for the fast internet Upload connection! For corporates with leased lines and Data-Center Server it would be useful if really needed!
Upload speed to yunpan.360.cn is as little as 50-60kB/s on an 2MB/s upload connection. will see later how fast the download would be?! At a moment I'm not satisfied in any means!
Got it to work, even on my Sony Android MP3-Player (NWZ-Z1050). PS: I get full 1 MBit/s - Upload most of the time, but it fluctuates a bit.
Spyware allert The installer is infected cought by malwarebytes Backdoor.Farfli, C:\Users\Sebastiaan\Downloads\360wangpan_setup.exe, Quarantined, [709b99e4adce7db9c6cf3559eb16f010]
No not realy Faikee but people should know i think Personaly i don't like spyware infecting my system
If I try to install the Client I get the following: Plan to install W7 or 8 on an test machine with no other apps and install there, my Main Machine I need to work!! It's anyway no need for me to have that space, I've much enough and more than I need on my own Server's! It's just to give that infos to friends but all must be 'clean' because they'll come back to me with complaints if something go wrong!!
Actually the extra large space is because in China, you could import whatever you like, softwares, movies, TV dramas, etc,, and e.g. you import a movie of 3GB's, it is in fact a link to the original file that maybe less than 1K(but record still shows 3GB used). So if you don't understand Chinese, I couldn't imagine how you could use that 36TB, or a fraction of that. The AV alert is probably a false alarm, but yes, it has been whispered a long time that these softwares like the 360 Yungpang, Thunder(Xunlei), etc., has a backdoor.
@FaiKee Most of the cloud service provider use data deduplication techniques to save disk space - it is a common trend in storage industry.
As I mwrote already, I was getting below 60kB/s on my 2Mb/s upload. I hardly believe that it would change even I would apply for 20Mb/s which would my cost 20 times I pay already for 20Mb/s down and 2Mb/s up! totally useless. Also the upload of an 200MB file was broken at 80MB with no resume possible! But I didn't installed the Client on my computer because of an infection alert on it's install! Will test with an Test Computer on DMZ on weekend and see what could be done.
