its related because Edge creates a file inside "%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\ImplicitAppShortcuts\" and that file is a shortcut that points to "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge SxS\User Data\Profile X\Edge Profile.ico" or "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge SxS\User Data\Default\Edge Profile.ico" and using specifically that icon for taskbar.
This case is likely to be true only for certain Geographic locations and for certain users. I have things differently. I have still used only genuine Edge.
I have been following these discussions from the beginning, first post is in MARCH 2019 !
What the heck, has Microsoft not been able to build a reliable browser, based on chrome engine even now ?
I read that it is scheduled to launch in January 2020.
Just ranting ! No offense to anyone !
I found for the icon in the taskbar (when the browser is open) and for the shortcut too (Windows 10 did not resist me so Edge )
I prefer, but I would have to do the change with each new update, so I would leave with the CAN on the icon/logo...
Very bad news. The worst sync system in the world is Microsoft sync system.
UPDATE: We published 334.3 today to fix an issue where navigation on some websites was taking an extraordinarily long time for some users. We're also hoping to publish another small revision next week to fix a couple of known crashes.
Dev channel update
UPDATE 2: We published 334.4 today to more broadly disable favorites sync, which should fix some sync-related crashes that users have been experiencing.
when opening it closes how to fix it? I need the current active tabs
If would be possible any way understood what about you are saying, then maybe could think about what the problem might be, currently even doesn't know what You open. If it is Edge, then what version.
I can only tell so much, all mine versions works without problems.
Haven't fix the inability to scroll, or list all open tabs, when there's too many tabs to fit in the window's width, or am I missing something?
On an Edge Chromium Canary used on a windows 7 machine the „Your connection isn't private” mesage is back on gmail, google and some other sites . What i can do ? Th'x !
Your connection isn't private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from gmail.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
I guess that was a bug from google https certificate in various services, not from edge.
On Firefox it's OK on the same windows 7 machine, so i'm doubt it's a bug from google
Firefox do not use Windows Certificate Store by default, it has its own
It is likely that your User Data folder is uncleaned or damaged.
Try this - close Edge => go to User Data folder and delete
Safe Browsing Cookies
History Provider Cache
Trust Protection Lists
If that doesn't work, delete the entire User Data folder, Edge will automatically make a new one.
You can keep the files: Bookmarks, Favicons and Login Data
