the password doesnt work for me coz the file is corrupt i tried downloading it twice any other links please?
This link worked, but I can't seem to find that cool installer... (I'm so new that it would not allow me to include the link in the quote). Hi, All, Thank you, OP, in advance, for what appears to be a fantastic package. I'm looking at the 'How To' and am hoping that someone knows a link to a post that would walk a windows 8 noob through this a little more slowly? I don't seem to find an .exe to the cool installer that is pictured in some of the photos. Is that included and I'm just not finding it? Was it possibly added to a later update and the installer isn't included? Am I just missing something (which seems more than likely)? Thank you, again, Shantyhag
Good Morning. I was able to download yesterday from the link that Tito linked to, above. I'm not certain the file is the same self-install version that is shown in a lot of the posts. Rather, it includes a 'How To' that I have some questions about. 1. Select and enter to x64 or x32 directory according your platform No problem here... both directories are easily found. 2. Copy all subdirectories of x64 or x32 to your system drive OK, sure, but to someplace specific? Does these go in their namesake folders? Do they go under a sub-folder? There are 'Program Files', 'Program Files (x86)', 'ProgramData', and 'Windows'. After that there appears to be a Registry Editor entitled 'Games_x64'. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. 3. Import Games_x64.reg or Games_x32.reg to your registry This would almost appear to be just a matter of double-clicking the registry editor within the folder. As soon as I do it asks if I want to make changes to my registry. Am I correct in believing this step is just that simple, or is there more to it? 4. Create Game Explorer shortcut: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{ED228FDF-9EA8-4870-83b1-96b02CFE0D52} or %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe shell:games So, I've gone and watched the tutorial linked to elsewhere regarding this... still not sure that I get it, but it seems doable. This will allow the games to populate under the Games directory, is that right? 5. Extract GameExplorerBuilder.zip to: \Program Files\GameExplorerBuilder on x32 or \Program Files (x86)\GameExplorerBuilder on x64 and create shortcut: "C:\Program Files (x86)\GameExplorerBuilder\GameExplorerManager.exe" or "C:\Program Files\GameExplorerBuilder\GameExplorerManager.exe" for managing Game Explorer items. Or, is that what this step does? Or is the combination of the two? It appears, from the thread, that there was a version with an installer that did most (if not all) of this stuff automatically. I cannot find, within any of these files, the Setup file that is supposed to launch the installer. As an alternative to assisting with any of this, I would love a link to the latest installer-inclusive version if it's available. It appears that these links come down almost as fast as they go up (why is beyond me, since MS decided to abandon the games with the new Windows). Thank you, again, for any assistance you might give with this. Sincerely, Shantyhag
Since I have compiled this pack, I will answer you. This pack is special and IMHO better than the other ones, since you will get "all games from W7", "those games from WVista, which aren't in W7" and "those games from WXP, which aren't in W7 and WVista". So compared to pack in 1st post, you will get more games (Hold'Em, InkBall, Tinker and Pinball)... All games what do OS version check are patched by Woot and original EXE is present in original directory with BAK extension. Answers: 2. x32 or x64 directory is adequate to root, so just select everything there (except the reg file) and copy to C:\ drive root 3. Yep, just double click, I've extracted everything from W7, WVista, WXP (both x64 and x32) 4. This will open the system window "Game Explorer" (it is similar like Control Panel). Only games which are specially registered (3.) and provided by launchers (2.) appear there... 5. This will allow you to edit manually content of "Game Explorer" window. Installer version isn't mine and includes only games from W7 (I think it is outdated)... In RAR I've also always provided x64 versions when they were available, I am not sure, if that self-installer from 1st post copies only x32 versions or provides x64 versions too.
Thank you, Moderate. I had read through the threads and did see that you were including more games in this package but, being new and not knowing the players herre, didn't piece together that you were not the original creator as well. I'm anxious to try this (when I'm away from work) and will let you know how the install goes. Again, much appreciation! Shanty
i installed on my x64 pc fine, then tried installing the x86 version on my tablet, but after installation finished, no games appeared. tried reinstalling and selecting features individually, but still no luck. what gives?
@ TONSCHUH Thank you very much for this. But I have one question. The Games are in English language. But my Windows 8 is German. Is there any chance to change the Games language to german?
