I downloaded the Patch and ran it within my Solitaire subfolder (Windows 8 64-bit). But Solitaire still won't open. Anything I should try differently?
I am on an emotional roller coaster here! First I upgrade to Win8 and found the games were deleted then I find this awesome post but then found when I try to run it, I am getting an error (the log is pasted below). I downloaded the RAR containing the program files for the games, installed under Program Files | Microsoft Games, added the DLL to each folder and then ran the patch. Why isn't this working for me? I need to run the x86 version. Here is the top part of my log and it just repeats for every failure. Thanks for you help!! Hi, I am in big trouble, I have put win 8 onto my wife's system and have tried to follow your instructions and I have run the RAR program(using winzip) and have now got an empty tile on her desktop called games explorer. I ran the x86 program from the download folder but cannot find where it has put the programs. My system is a 32 bit running on a 64bit processor (strange I would have expected a 64 on 64 but never mind) can you help me please. She has taken to doing jigsaw puzzles which is a bad sign for my life expectancy. I have been playing with computers for some 20 odd years but have never fathomed the sort of programing skills that you people have, I need a true idiots guide. thank you. Patrick
