Why don't you post some checksums?

Volume label, SHA1, CRC, size in bytes...

I have a copy of the Microsoft Office 2000 Professional I made from the original CD disc 1 and disc 2 long, long, time ago. I have install Office 2000 on many computers I have worked on. The product key text file is inside the zip file because I may lose, misplaced, or the original discs with the product key sticker attached to it may get damaged.

I can upload both files to my free Dropbox account but I don't know if it legal or not to post the link in this thread. I do not want to get BANNED from My Digital Life forum.

    O9PROCD01.zip 307 MB
    O9PRMCD02.zip 409 MB

@keyhole Thanks for the offer, but pretty much no one on MDL would want them unless they are genuine ISO extracted properly from CD.

@EFA11, I haven't updated this thread in ages, been swapping a few files with Threat, and we sort came to the conclusion that there are at least 2 versions of 2000 PRM, RTM and 2 with SR-1.
But the set you posted I haven not seen before. Disc 3 does look like it is undersized.

Judging by the Volume Label of CD3 & 4, it must be a SR-1 version.

What do you use to make the report, is it a UNIX program?

Oz, the disc 2 "O9PRMCD02.zip" 409 MB file size have Microsoft Publisher in it. Also, when I copy the discs long time ago, I didn't know at the time to use ISO image to make a backup of a CD and DVD discs, sorry. Back then, I inserted the Office 2000 disc into the drive and open up "My Computer", select the drive contain the Office 2000 disc, right-click copy and paste it into the directory on the hard drive and finally I zip the two (2) folders O9PROCD01 and O9PRMCD02 into O9PROCD01.zip 307 MB and O9PRMCD02.zip 409 MB.

@EFA11 Interested, if you get them to Threat, then he can perhaps delta them from another set I got him which is also SR-1.

7Zip, well that gives a pop-up, but no txt to copy, or do you OCR it? Just tried it, only report in full on some ISO.

@keyhole, yeah back in 1999 when I downloaded Office 2000 I didn't know jack about ISO either, but fortunately it can still be had in genuine form for collectors.

What is Threat? Is that a website or some kind of anti-virus software?

Heh heh, he'll like that, "What is Threat?"

It's a member here on MDL. Would say he is a Threat to EFA11's ISP (inside joke)

I am this horrible computer virus that leaves slimy green stuff inside your computer, that occasionally seeps out of the back. I also cause random bits of data to be leaked out of systems whilst causing major amounts of damage to system hardware in the process (hello EFA ;) )

Nobody is interested in home made crap. Sorry.

Even if the files are unaltered chances are they will not be exact same SHA1's as any original Microsoft files. On top of that why would you need to restore them? If they were original CD's you'd just make an untouched ISO's. If it's a CD-R copy you got from god knows where then how can you say it's complete and unaltered anway? There are more than enough crud releases of Office around without you adding more.

I don't know when I bought Office 2000, but I checked CD's and it have valid timestamps and valid files. If I have homemade releases, I wouldn't post it in this thread about Office 2000.

Today is very difficult to find Office 2000 MSDN discs, because of Java Settlement.

I guess I have to hunt for the Original Microsoft Office 2000 software people donate to Goodwill, Salvation Army Family Thrift, and other mom and pop thrift stores. There is no guarantee I will run into them but if I do, I will make an ISO image from the discs along with the product key before I upload to Dropbox.

I uploaded the folder contain Microsoft Office 2000 Professional Disc 1 and 2. Make yourself home and I hope that I don't get chastised or banned.

Also, you need Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats in order to read and edit .docx, xlsx, .ppxt documents.

    Office Links.png

Another thing I would like to add is that most computers I worked on in the past the CD/DVD drive does not worked or it does not have a drive in it. So, I copied the Office 2000 CD disc 1 and 2 from the original discs onto the hard drive using Imgburn and then I zip the contents into a zip files (O9PROCD01.zip and O9PRMCD02.zip) so I can transfer it onto the USB flash drive and copy it to onto the computer without or broken CD/DVD drive. Then I uncompressed two zip files into two folder directory (O9PROCD01 and O9PRMCD02) on the "C" or "root" drive and finally I install Microsoft Office 2000 Professional from the hard drive.

Also, I learned that if you install from a disc and certain features is not installed, the installer WILL prompt you for a source disc. When the source installation files is on the hard drive, the installer WILL NOT prompt you for the source disc. That is why I don't get no complaints from people that I have worked on their computers and if they have an another computer that doesn't have Office 2000 installed, I told them to copy the zip files (O9PROCD01.zip and O9PRMCD02.zip) onto their USB flash drive and copy onto that computer also.

So if you have a better way than my methods above let me know.

    @keyhole.

Just install a Virtual Optical drive, load ISO in it and done.
