Linux and Apple is the resistance.

When you're a monopoly, the only resistance is people opting out. Most people do not have that will power and honestly think bitching about something without taking action will change things. They are not only wrong, they are naive and ignorant on how things work.

The Great White Shark hasn't evolved (changed) in several million years, because it doesn't need to. ;)

Nobody needs their OEM's greenlight to upgrade, since laptop OEM's are, software wise, absolutely off their heads.

I feel old. I remember Internet Explorer 1.

Technically, I remember Microsoft 1st browser which wasn't actually called Internet Explorer, rather the icon just read "internet" and was an oddly colored planet icon. IE1 had a similar icon and title as well on the desktop.

Doom was an OK game. I took a personal interest to Quake. I still own a copy.

I remember downloading Office 97 over dialup from usenet. took 55 hours. My friends and family told me I was crazy.
Until I installed it on their machines that is.

Ah yeh, the good ol gates days ...

Free and Microsoft ? I personally think its all about the windows 10 going the same way as Vista or even windows 8 for that matter. I can't see any business either even looking at windows 10 with all the information it collects ? ...and any company using it should have to notify customers that it is using it as after all it will be their data that's getting collected.

Most major corporations have been resisting hardware/OS upgrades for years. Hardware may have come with xp and been upgraded to Windows 7 reluctantly. Age is catching up. I think a lot of companies are going to have to take the leap next year whether they like it or not.

hm, i cannot see it either, but i cannot afford to underestimate a multimillion dollar company with a huge marketing dept... they must see see a profit, or maybe they are desperate to lose more marketshare. after all, all this data collection and surreptious attempts to install w10 will customers angry. i for one got very angry, to the point where i abandoned windows for linux. and i will not go back.

I had an Intel 8086 with a 34 mega byte HD, green monitor, 300 baud modem to connect to BBS, OS was PC-DOS 3.0 with the new compact 5¼-inch floppy drive. Netscape came a few years after that when there was internet. People would ask me "What's on the internet" "What does it do" "Why do you need that" LOL.

Possibly M$ is getting some funding from other sources to put this Win 10 doors wide open system in place to help protect us from the forces they are supporting/funding in the middle east.
