Yep. Hip-hip-hooray to all trigger-patch-happy kids here who couldn't resist from worshipping cool w8 plus some super-cool anti-metro patch. Hopefully they are learning something now.
Hmm manage to get all the updates working in my Laptop and Desktop. Both on 64bits. Also manage to update my Entertainment PC running 32bits. I encounter a problem during the installation. Install the MSE update alone first. After that restart your computer and install the updates given by MS. I did it on all my PC and its running fine. For those who are wondering, I am running Win8 RTM X64 and X32 all KMS activated with WMC key. Hope this help you guys who are having problems
I faced issues while installing certain previous updates of Win 8. This time all the updates installed successfully. I am on Win 8 Pro activated with KMS.
I'd read quite a bit of those problems today and even talked with an friend who faced similar problems about it. As I didn't had any problems with updates on any of my Windows 8 installations, it seems to be that those, who having the problems using software tools which access and changed some of the Windows settings. Therefore it seems to be possible, that some of that tools "crashing" something in windows which prevents the installation of upgrades. From my point of view that would make sense. Most of the tools I use which also used for to access protected Windows files, are kind portable, which means they didn't need to be installed to run and therefore didn't even add some special .dll, .inf and other 3. party system files to the running OS.
Installed clean Windows 8 x64 with manually injected WMC as Dual Boot on a native Windows 7 Laptop, also I have Office 2013 x64 installed and all fully activated. Actually I'm trying Start8. Installed all Win 8 updates without a glitch. In my life I guess I have installed Windows at least more than 500 times beginning with Windows 1.0! Besides that was my job as I imported and sold computers. Now I can say that updating Windows trashed at least 10% of all systems where I was called to look after it. I once build 50 boxes for a school, all identical systems and guess what? Some of them would not boot anymore into Windows after applying Windows update. I still have to find out why this does happen.
I will ask again I am kind of scared to install these updates dont want to f**k up my HP G7 2010nr laptop. Should I just wait till a fix is inpalce for the failling updates people are getting from trying to install the updates?
Why don't you not backup your system first then you can recover it if you have any problems ( you should always have a backup anyway )
Not generally, running service based Uxstyle "patch" with no problems, no system files manipulated this way .
I am running the G7 2233CL with no issues as far as screwing things up. I only know its updating when I reboot or restart the machine. I like the auto install download and screw that MS does for me heheh
Thank you for letting me know that things should be fine. I am making brand new backup of my system just incase they fail.
I had to run internet browser to find the windows updater, this is a bummer. Ran it and all updates installed.
KB2770917 error KB2770917 wont install on my computer. I have a legal version of Windows 8 pro. I downloaded KB2770917 seperatly from MS update. The file just installs, and when restarting the computer it fails and is removed. I also have a problem with updating the tiles in the Store. They are updated and do not work afterwards. Windows 8 pro is a beta!!!!
