Does anyone have any OEM version of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002? Anything that isn't labeled as Retail.
Small helper to differentiate the retail and oem: Open iso file with 7z and "Open Inside" the exe file (same if you only have the exe file btw, also, retail iso is listed in MVS/DB dump - oem iso is not, as expected - exe files are signed) Inside the exe, "Open Inside" the msi file, locate "FILE33" and "View" This is the eula.txt file, scroll down at the bottom EULAID: -> look for RTL / OEM
In the SP2 era, Microsoft once pointed out that some serial number segments are illegal. However, hardware manufacturers' COAs do not have such problems, so the last statement of the article you quoted is obviously not valid.
Hiya With the generic oem key accepted during installation i would expect to have a choice to log on. With the branded oem key accepted during installation it just skips cd2.
I still don’t agree. Skipping CD2 is only a problem with certain number segments. The same goes for OEM serial numbers. The key lies in the number segment and the string of characters after the barcode.
@Sajjo Select location in Step 1 - you dumb ass!!! In my defence, that works for the fpp installation but not in the oem installation. Scratch that - oem is good 2
Therefore, it is an unknown issue for the time being. I have not found a key that does not require CD2 under TPC.
