be aware of today’s update of ms security essential, not database only, but whole antivirus. it barked on office kmsservice service. i indicated to ignore this :) so m$ goes forward to catch activators :)

testing on VM now, what does it do? Does it detect Daz? Removewat? I guess I'll find out in a few mins.

MSE found my Removewat the other day. Today MSE wants to update itself completely.

I think you can safely update mse. but then you have to be ready to its warnings on activators ^)

    Compatibility update problems

I have had some compatibility problems since MS updated my win7 x64 laptop.

    Toshiba laptop w/ Win7 Ultimate x64, 2G ram.

Some "compatibility" update pushed out in June has flummoxed my copies of Wordperfect, versions 10 and X4. Any time I try to run a macro, whether stock or one I wrote, the program crashes. I also had a problem with Thunderbird x64 email, version 3.0.3; it said my copy of nprs4.dll either wasn't compatible with Windows or had an error. I reinstalled Thunderbird over top of the existing install, and that remedied the problem. For Wordperfect X4, I uninstalled and then reinstalled and that fixed it.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure which update is the culprit. I tried to uninstall the updates, but that had no effect, so I reinstalled them and then reinstalled the other programs.

For what it's worth, I have seem some dll problems since the MS update with a program from Tropical Software called Weatherpulse, version 2.4.4. I get a Windowscodecs.dll error, and then the program runs. I get a similar error with a remote control program called Remote Administrator by Famatech, but, again, the program will run.

Btw, MS says my copy is verified, whatever that means.

There's been some discussion in another topic about whether KB2032276 was giving problems or whether it was only the fault of the guy using SP1 beta.
What's the bottom word? Is it safe to install it?

Thanks in advance for the advice.
