Even though I have a licence for XP MCE 2005 from my old Dell, does MCE 2005 require activation or is it VL by default? Best, the Windows 7 Ultimate fan.
No it requires activation but on your dell machine it would preactivate using oem:slp method the serial you have from dell will be the oem none:slp you can use that to activate if you lose you original dell cd's, but you are tied to the machine you activate with that serial.
Hi, the MCE install is going on a VMware virtual machine so I think I may have to port the OEM activation thing to the virtual machine.
Hi. I'm new on MDL but I have a bit of experience when it comes to computers. Anyway, I have an old PC that is most comfortable running XP. When I purchased it, it didn't have any Windows installed, so I bought a Windows XP Home Edition SP2 English disc (+ LIP because I live in Europe), but I can't use it anymore because there are too many scratches on it. On the back of the CD cover and on the CD Key sticker (that you may put it on your PC case) it says that it is an OEM license key (and I still have it). Due to some hardware and software related problems it seems that I may need to reinstall Windows. My question is, what ISO should I download that I can use with my OEM key? en_windows_xp_home_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-92413 or en_windows_xp_home_n_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-92393 Also, what would be the best way to install all Windows XP updates that has been realeased until today?
enduromoto, (OEM license key) You need the next disk. en_windows_xp_home_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_oem_x14-73422.iso CRC32: ffffffff MD5: 0f707417150c0aee4e91c9919d86b4a7 SHA-1: 7f395b9ec84cffcc43c855bf89ab91ef3bfad612 size: 564 MB (592 150 528 байт)
