I would like to do that but got no acces to editing the title so maybe a Mod can change it into = Enterprise 1709 activated with pro retail key Nvm found it !
You can't activate Enterprise using Pro key. You have license switched Enterprise to Pro by doing so.
uhh how? If you install Enterprise, then enter your Pro key, wouldn't that convert it to Pro? How did you get enterprise activated with your Pro key?
There is nothing surprising in it. Store license is defined for edition of key, it's GroupID and for value in Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ProductOptions\OSProductPfn This value changes after key change. And your edition is converted to Pro, but due to license switch bug you have a Pro with Enterprise CPU and memory limits... This was mentioned many times in ProfessionalWorkstation thread.
I have checked but it did not converted to some kind pro by my knowledge and how I activated it's a retail key maybe that's a difference to a generic key dunno
well I have a retail Pro key. So you're saying that if I install Enterprise, the go to PC Settings > Activation > Change Product Key and enter my Pro key, it wouldn't actually switch it to Pro and when I go online it'll activate Enterprise using HWID?
Well I did I don't realy understand why it works this way but by my knowledge I'm running Enterprise Composition Edition with a pro license
Well I have two versions normal and stripped one with MSMG toolkit personaly I'm running the stripped one
As @mkuba50 said, it's just an Enterprise install and by entering the retail pro key it did a license switch to Pro and activated. On 16299.xxx the license switch will not be 100% that's why it still shows enterprise, but it actually is activated as Pro. They fixed it on IP rs4 rs_prerelease.
That's very interesting even if i already knew that inserting a enterprise key on pro edition or the opposite was leading to a switch edition with the option of activating it at the same time knowing that you won't have the real functions of the switched edition. Could you please be more explicit about "memory limits", what exactly did you mean by that ? Did you mean that you won't be able to use your maximum memory when doing that ?
I meant that he will get Pro with 6TB memory limit and 4 CPU limit instead of 2TB memory and 2 CPU in normal Pro.
