Why would one want to modify their BIOS? What is there to gain from this practise? I see people saying things like getting XP to activate by modifying their BIOS, what's up with that and when do you know a modification is needed? The main reason I ask, I have a VAIO laptop but am having trouble getting any other OS to boot in UEFI mood except the factory Win8 instalation. This is in non-secure mode. I am wondering if they did something in the BIOS to linked it to Win8 and that might be my problem. However, I don't understand enough about the BIOS or the modifications you guys are making to know if this is the case or not. Is there way I can extract my BIOS and someone can take a peak? I would greatly appreciate it.
