Yeah, I use this LiveCD so I won't have to carry around a couple floppies and a USB Floppy Drive. Plus, my ROM file is ~2MB, which is very difficult to use with floppies.
Chill out sparky, he didn't say he coded it. He said he made a boot disk. If someone finds it useful great but don't slam someone for trying to contribute. And BTW, most people don't have a clue on how to make a boot disk, allot of people come here with zero knowledge on boot disks, loading an os or flashing a bios so yes, this can be helpful to someone.
many Thank`s for sharing the knowledge and the link to XP1 and whitehat2009, very appreciate, useful tool for me..
MS-DOS 7.10 LiveCD With Ramdisk with write permisions Hello for all. Excelent article, exceltent work! This Live CD is a great job and works perfectly. It is ideal to update BIOS. But I have a problem with the Live CD is not as resolved. In the Live CD , not are units drive (C:, A:,...) writable, and that means you can not use MSDOS pipes (|) or redirects to file (>) the output of an executable. How can be created on a ramdisk in a new unit which has writing? With pipes (|) and redirects (>) could be implemented .bat file to automatically choose the BIOS update or other purposes. I appreciate your help. Regards.
hello, i download the isomsdos for flash the bios at acer travelmate 370. and the aplciation phlash16.exe type this note ' Cannot flas if Memory managers (eg Himen) present pres any key for exit
Temporarily rename the files "config.sys" and "autoexec.bat", and reboot. This will allow you to use BIOS flashing tools. Either or both Config.Sys and AutoExec.Bat contain things which BIOS flashing tools don't need and others that they don't like, like the memory managers.
Nice one! Would this work to recover a bad biosflash on a hp nc6400? Guessing not since the screen is just blank:/
