Prolly Firefox will gain some new users after the Quantum release, but it will surely loose more old users because of the addon fiasco. I couldn't care less about my browser beeing some milliseconds faster, if a huge ammount of my over the years beloved addons stop to work in exchange. Well, there are still alternatives like Waterfox.
Enthousiast, thanks for this info! and omg will it be available for android and ios? damn i hope MS Edge will grow faster and i'll hope they will always be supported by RD and MS and i just asked these question
Enthousiast, so MS Edge will always be available on W10 and will never end? :s and what does 'Neither' mean sorry my english is bad and i read on site: 'MS Edge is Doubling Down' Does Doubling Down mean it is going high or low?
They have fixed the 0-day exploits i think, but what browser do you recommend me then bc i hate chrome and i also use Adblock plus or should i stay with Google Chrome? :S
That's just plain wrong, some addons can't be ported to the new webextension system due to limitations of the new api. Down Them All or Classic Theme Restorer are just two popular examples.
The problem with edge is that it's tied to Cortana. As a Swede, I don't have Cortana since it's not released here. Therefore the whole right-click menu with search, translate etc is gone. Also Windows still use MSHTML (=Internet Explorer) internally and I don't think it's going to change any time soon. The Cortana connection kind of taints edge to be a market tool rather than a serious attempt to create a good browser. I still use both edge and Internet Explorer for casual things, but chrome is my main browser.
Sorry, not going to happen with iOS, according to Apple's policy about any other browser engine existing except for its own in iOS! Only GUI front-ends are allowed in iOS!
FireFox acceleration is pitiful compared to Chromium... It's unfortunate since I'm loathe to use Chrome. But for a Youtube machine, Chrome is king.
