SCEP is a higher version of MSE with more features. As it's Enterprise-grade it is still supported for auto-update.

I am extremely sensitive to installing anything new on this PC, are there any risks with this? I guess I could take a Macrium backup before trying it
My MSE is set to check for updates before every auto scan at 6:00 am daily. Last = today 2026 04 24... Last update released & uploaded was the 23rd. As I write this I did a manual check for updates & nothing newer. I use Windscribe VPN & stop it before manually checking. Seems the auto check is not bothered by the VPN firewall. I have Win7 M$Update on. Shows my last updates were Feb 2026. It still checks but finds nothing. My System makes a Scheduled Check Point backup Restore Point about once a week. Drive space is limited & oldest deleted if space exceeds set limit. I also watch & trim files once a month. My continued experience with Win7 & MSE. Working for me.
