insideflash (sony) dosent work (says incompatible)

flas**t x.rom or flas**t x.rom /all returns "error ihisi 10h fail, internal error ef function not supported"

x.rom is what i renamed the rom file in the zip.

BTW bios list (c)2007 American Megatrends Inc. (was there insyde bios then?)

    thanks so much!

It may be the AMI type UEFI bios. I modified it with insyde tools. Is there a flasher with the bios download?? Maybe an afudos???

No, there's no bios file on the sony website, so I followed the advice above to extract the bios with universal bios extractor.

Should I try flashing via AFUDOS? Even though you used insyde tools?

You need to find out how the bios flashes. There is a sony tool for you. you need to find it. Are you sure it wasnt in the archive with the bios?? If this is a backup, it may never flash without an EEPROM programmer.

The SLP is only used for activating Win XP.
It is NOT necessary to activate Win 7.
How did you flash that BIOS ?
Did you flash from DOS as recommended everywhere on this forum ?
If you did flash from DOS you may simply need to use different switches in AFUDOS to get it to properly flash.
