You have done something wrong - today I have personally tested this mod. The procedure was as follows: 1. The original and modified BIOSes were copied to a USB flash drive (FAT formatted) 2. Via M-flash original (bios and ME) bios was flashed. 3. After the reboot, "Optimal settings" were set . 4. Via M-flash was flashed modified BIOS. 5. After rebooting, the "optimal" settings were set in the BIOS. Slic is present.
idk. I copied it on my flash disk. Original v2.8 was already installed so I didn't reinstalled it. I selected in bios M-flash and update bios + ME. It updated bios, then PC restarted and then started to update ME. Then PC restarted but don't boot anymore... What I searched on google, I'm not alone who killed MSI mobo by flashing also the ME part (even with original bios). I will try to RMA the mobo... So for everyone I probably recommend to not update the ME (It's not even really needed right?) and use AFUDOS...
Thank you, that was fast Is there any recommended way how to flash the BIOS with this file? Do you think M-Flash is safe to be used? (would have to rename it probably).
Thank you, renamed file to E7640AMS.D50, put on USB thumbdrive and flashed from BIOS via M-Flash directly. Now it is showing SLIC present. Funny thing is in the end it was not even needed, I prepared it for case my Retail copy refuses to activate again - too many HW changes since last reinstall (being PC enthusiast making my own builds) and before that I had to call hotline couple times already. Talk about getting in the way of legit users.
