Did you actually extract the ISO into the DVD folder? The ISO folder is an output folder, not for your source. Read the readme. Cheers.
Thanks for your feedback. And back to initial question, do the removed components return after updates?
I've just started looking upgrading to Windows 11 and notice there are quite a few new packages available to remove. Does anyone have a description of what these packages are for? OfflineFiles SimpleTCPIPServices ManualSetup ProjFS ClientWebExperience RemoteRegistry
Hi friend great work reducing ISO size is not difficult what is difficult is maintaining compatibility with Windows Update and inplace upgrade. So I ask, have you removed Winre.wim, "manual setup" (files on ISO needed for inplace upgrade), WinSxS\Backup and .NET cache (\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_*)? With your ISO is it possible to use Windows Update? Just curiosity
I'm deleting all that stuff. However, it is possible to use Windows Update (installing updates for MS Office, .NET, drivers). Whether it is possible to install Cumulative Updates in this case is another question... But it also doesn't make any sense once the components are removed. (And inplace upgrade doesn't interest me at all)
I also don't mind inplace upgrade, too time consuming for my taste. If it's going to be a long process then I'd rather do a clean install. But I was curious how he got the 2.3 GB. Whether keeping these files or not. About Windows Update I asked because there are tools that can greatly reduce the size of the ISO but break Windows Update. But I don't care about Windows Update either It's just a matter of curiosity.
Is it possible to also integrate Defender Updates like this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/microsoft-defender-anti-malware-platform-update-kit-for-windows-11-updated-january-17th-2022.83758/
when removing components with toolkithelper & removelist, is there a log of which registry and packages were removed? ive managed to get win10 ltsc 2021 wim to less than 2.2gb but after installing cu updates, the removed apps and services are reinstalled so hoping to use the log to remove from a live system
hello big carioca, not because if I remove winre.vim will not be possible to make a new installation "in place" so I used another option converted the install.wim to install esd only and without problems and this is the system I'm using at this time ok ...
Nothing that I notice, but I recommend to check in VM or simple pause the updates instead of disabling.
Is it possible to reinstall a particular system app which I nuked earlier instead of creating new iso? @inTerActionVRI
what is the the name of the package responsible for widgets on windows 11 I don't have widgets in start menu and I don't remember that I removed a package named widgets now how can I get widgets back on my live system ??
Hi guys. Can you please tell me if it is possible to edit Toolkit.cmd to work with new ISO Windows update? For example win 10 21h2 (19043.1503)
