My question: Is it possible to remove Hyper-V and how? Can you please explain that in more detail, because i can't find the option, maybe I'm missing something?
Respected Sir i have already answered that our Master @MSMG can but you are taking our master name as his tool . kindly cross check the difference in my POV & your assumption.
@MSMG Is it possible to completely remove Hyper-V in the ISO and how, it's just a waste of space. Thank you in Advanced!
Probably not worth it. Too many dependencies = stability issues. He mentioned it a few months ago. As I remember, even NTLite has Hyper-V labeled as critical component (removal not recommended). If you want, you can experiment on your own with Hyper-V packages removal, one by one. 19044.1288 LTSC packages as reference: Spoiler: HYPER-V PACKAGES I tried it on 1809 LTSC (2019) via NTLite (in version 2.1.0.7845 the option is still free), after debloating via MSMG-Toolkit. All Hyper-V related packages were removed except: HyperV-KMCL-Host-Package and HyperV-Storage-QoS-Package. Everything seems to work correctly, VirtualBox too.
Windows update is not working for me on 21H2 19044.2132. I'm using WSUS. The updates are detected and show "Downloading 0%" where they stay indefintely. I can download and install updates manually, but I can't get them to install via WSUS My group policy prevents connecting to Windows Update online, which I prefer to keep in place. I want to control what updates are installed via WSUS. This applies to all updates... .NET, Office, Windows etc. Update Orchestrator and Windows Update services are running. Event log shows event ID 44: Windows is downloading an update Nothing in CBS.log Network OK. Image created using 12.8 of the toolkit. Of course, I've been through all the basics, stopping and restarting WU, deleting the contents of the SofwareDistribution folder etc... Any ideas what might be causing this? CBS.log is plain text and it opens fine in notepad. The Windows update logs are .etl files and are accessed via the powershell cmdlet get-windowsupdatelog In any case, the culprit has turned out to be the VPN connection. All PCs are connected to the VPN all of the time. I do not allow PCs on the Internet without a VPN. However, in my testing, when I disconnected from the VPN the client PC started downloading and installing the updates. I find error codes 80240007 and 80200010 in the Windows update logs. group policy prohibits Pcs connecting to Windows Update Ineternet locations. So this seems to be that the VPN connection is messing up my INTRANET somehow. I can browse the network, access content on mapped drives and load Intranet websites fine, but for some reason on 21H2 ONLY Windows update will not download updates when connected to the VPN. I might be wrong, but unless the toolkit does something funky, I suspect this is a Windows problem.
ok but how do you analyze a big data size log file for errors . suppose log file is of 918 kb then how ? its ok if you are much more familiar with analyzing log files .
Get-WindowsUpdateLog produces a file of 3.14MB on my desktop. The size depends on the number of .etl files processed. I use Notepad++ and have opened files much larger than 3MB without issues.
You are not getting my point of view actualy . what to do with that 3.14 mb of log file. can you analyze it in a minute or two or you are using some tool to filter only errors out of it. then analyzing those errors & getting the actual cause of the issue you are facing . whuffff i am done .
For Toolkit v12.8 the supported image with CU is 19045.2006 [KB5017308], if you had used CU later than the one required than there are chances of error when updating the system to the next CU. I have uploaded updated Toolkit.cmd and ToolkitHelper.exe supporting the latest patch Tuesday updates and have tested updating to the next available CU through WU and it's working; you can try making an in-place upgrade to the current 19044.2251 to fix any issues.
