    @FriedTempe
    if i were you,
    I would wait for the next version of toolkit with the windows update removal support and make a new image.
    with the wu components removed.
    no chance of the install getting scupperd.
    you can doo an inplace upgrade to the next edition of windows via another custom iso made with a future version of toolkit..

    @FriedTempe

    An interesting thing for you to see, knowing the names of the services and searching for .reg files to disable the services is:
    open gpedit (not for home editions) and read the services there. Deactivate, reactivate, break the system (hehehe).

    Then with the names of the services noted down you can search how to disable with reg file.

    About importing your .reg files, explore the custom folder, inside it there is a tree of folders for you to place your custom .reg files.

    With the image in service (being edited) you can use the Customize Menu which has an option to import Log Files. I think it's simpler than using the Tools Menu that was suggested by our friend @mhussain.

    hi
    @MSMG a question you may find interesting.
    so we have
    OOBENetworkCaptivePortal
    OOBENetworkConnectionFlow
    are there more components that you could remove from oobe?
    examples
    the privacy questions page?
    the 3 questions page.
    where you are asked where your parents met etc
    is this possible?
    since they should not have any change on a customized image?
    the privacy page at least...

    You can find a professional to home port of gpedit. I saw this somewhere. I don't remember where anymore. Do a search and you'll find it too.

    When I started I had experience with data maintenance and recovery, I didn't know much about customizing ISOs. So, I took advantage of the pandemic's idleness (decline in trade) to focus and learn. I learned a lot here.

    @inTerActionVRI
    would it not be possible to export the group policy packages from a server build and install it on the home edition?
    I say server edition, because
    the client editions of windows the packages are mostly merged.
    microsoft desktop required package etc.
    hence my query
    Unless there's a way of decuppling the individual packages from the merged package?

    a general query.
    why are packages merged in client builds?
    I think 1809 was the last build where all packages are decuppled?
    correct me on that if I am wrong.
    sorry for going off topic

    Time to move to something less harmful...

    That's not true. Home Is full of trash, is the heaviest Windows SKU. So if your PC can run Home, it can run any other version.

    You needed gpedit and is not in home. So looks like you need something better than Home, after all....

    If I'm not mistaken Win32Calc was exported by MSMG from some server.

    I would know just get the executable and copy it in the same place inside the home.

    But it exported already exists. As I said, I don't remember where I saw it. But a simple search is found.

    at first i tought the same. that pro would be more resource heavy. why.? because it as hyperV
    and i tought home was a lighter version. and at the same time i tought PRO was lighter it has PRO in it. but i did research and read that they are the same on resources but pro has more useful options. like gpedit. ect.

    the pro SKU has more features.
    it gives you more control over your updates
    it also has more features that can be disabled by group policy.
    which may ease the load
    unless it's changed, it also allows you to install without a ms account?
    but since you are an msmg user, then that last item is a n/a
    Majid

  15. Your thought is exactly what i thought, i dont even know what hyperV is and what can i do with it.. i only use my laptop for school works. I thought pro edition is for those who are working with IT things... not a home user like me.

    Thanks for explaining me the different between home and pro edition ... are u from malaysia? Ur name is so familiar in my ears, iam from indonesia... nice to meet u :bye3:
