MSMG ToolKit

Why do the registry files have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\TK_SOFTWARE instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE?

 

The way ;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\TK_SOFTWARE => Offline registry mounting for MSMG integration is standard

In mode;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE => It is the default of the online machine installed on your system

 

Ok, so if I manually import a registry file offline, I should use TK_SOFTWARE?

 

put the registry in Custom\Registry\w10\x64 an example, which I believe if it is the default on your machine, convertreg will convert it to MSMG, Don't change it because the toolkit will do everything for you by converting it to TK_ mode, If the programs that MSMG makes available already have their records converted to integrate them, you won't need to change anything, hugs...

Using the old .NET 5 pack as a reference, I might try making a new .NET 5 pack.

RemoveAppsList_W11_10.0.2262X.txt ---> RemoveAppsList.txt
RemovePkgsList_W11.txt---> RemovePkgsList.txt

installed IoT Ent LTSC in VM VirtualBox 7.0.14

works fast, but
Windows11.0-KB5036616-x64-NDP481.cab - can be installed manually
Windows11.0-KB5036908-x64.msu - cannot be installed manually

and sometimes, not often it freezes and you can only reboot through the VirtualBox menu
for what reason it is not possible to determine

 

Open with notepad++ and change the file codification to UTF-8.
It is saved as UTF-8 BOM. It need to be converted to UTF-8 in Format menu.

cbsenum for online images including windows11
wimtweak for online offline images but doesnt work well with windows 11 causes dism errors.
ntlite will work but i havent tried it.

i would as i do use toolkit against iso then install use cbsenum then make install.wim with dism++ and you can replace your new install.wim with any on your win iso

Toolkit_v13.6 can't integrate language pack for WinPe for windows 11 there is lack of code for this task...

Will it be included in next release?

 

Or maybe using boot.wim from consumer 261oo and extract winre from install.wim so language have only be @ to install.wim from 261oo ltsc.

So is this EOL of MSMG Toolkit ? anybody heard anything from MSMG ?

 

When debloating Windows 8.1, should Flash still be removed or should it be left to be taken care of by KB4577586 instead?

 

I just did 3593 with it using the DISM package removal option. It's still worth using for that and preloading in a bunch of registry keys. I am looking for other options though.
