I had Hyper-V removed completely with MSMG Toolkit and it is not as butchered as you may think and it even has Edge it is not supposed to have. I actually looked at the DISM log and integration of Edge onto LTSB version results in some error, but it goes through and works, although breaks DISM and SFC. No other tool can do that and I wonder what the secret is...
many times after I have removed all apps there are "ghost" tiles. Sometimes they go away with a restart, often you must remove them manually after install. This is the way it is. If someone else knows another way I am sure he will let us know.
Any idea what this Microsoft.Windows.CloudExperienceHost package does anyone? It seem to be standalone with no dependencies.
I agree, I see no need to remove firewall will not improve performance nor reduce the size occupied by Windows in a significant way. Comodo is said to be great but Windows Firewall is lightweight. To get better you can use TinyWall. VMware has the best combination of performance and features. Hyper-V performs better but its capabilities are limited. Virtualbox works best with Linux guests.
In terms of security Wanna Decryptor showed what firewalls really good for – nothing, only to annoy you. Yes it's possible to disable it in group policy editor but that's not the point. If you need firewall use it one in your router. Win Firewall is another useless piece of software and option for removing it should be in this wonderful tool.
Yes software-based firewall is limited, the ideal is to use a hardware-based one. A router using NAT already protects you enough from external attacks. But on your internal network a virus can spread among PCs on the same network so running out of a firewall is not a good idea.
@ MSMG, When ever you have the time can you please upload for me the fr-FR and es-ES language pack for Windows 7. Thank you!
I'd love see the collection of scripts you used I'm always looking for new scripts and tweaks to learn from and improve my own setup.
