For a lot of us this was never part of the equation. I buy ultra high end hardware for performance. I build my own systems to avoid pre-installed crap, or at least that is how it used to work....... For me I was appalled when I installed Windows 10 for the first time and saw that out of the box the start menu was an absolute mess. I got progressively more and more pissed as stuff I had removed came back and certain things had no official path to removal. If I am never going to use it and it does not have anything to do with the actual OS I shouldn't be forced to have it cluttering things up.
For the record: this fixed the servers where I had installed Edge previously a long time ago but it had quit working sometime after updates were installed. I had to grant permissions to the Packages registry key before this would take, then just re-ran the latest CU.
LOL, I meant "crap" in the context most of us use it, i.e. something we would rather was not installed by default. Spoiler By the way, if you are going to argue with me it probably violates your signature in some way.
MSMG Toolkit if used correctly has the option to remove apps you don't want and also it has an option to disable auto install of those sponsor apps.
When I play around with the toolkit, and create an "LTSB" from an insider preview for shïts and giggles, I do not have a problem with removed apps auto installing. So yes, what you say is very true.
Hi! Only the 3 last versions (v7.7/7.8/7.9) are available. Have a look at 1rst page for the downlod links.
