It forces programs to use the newest .NET. I have at least two programs which normally would ask to install .NETFX3.5, but with this regedit, they don't, and they work properly.
with that reg, are you saying that i dont need to install .net 3.5 and programs that require .net 3.5 will run off latest .net (just fine)?
Now SCPToolkit doesn't work. Is it because I removed the Xbox apps with NTLite and with it removed the Xbox Game Monitoring Service and also deactivated the Xbox Accessory Management Service? How can I solve this problem since I don't want to have this Xbox apps? Also, installing Windows 10 in another partition somehow broke the .NET Framework 4.0 in the other partition and my modern apps don't open again (I'm having this issue lately. They work for some days and suddenly they stop opening days after). EDIT: After all, the SCPToolkit problem doesn't have to do with the Xbox apps and the Xbox Game Monitoring Service being removed and with the Xbox Accessory Management Service being deactivated but with not having installed a driver. My bad. Anyway, by removing these things and after deactivating the Xbox Accessory Management Service will it break some games, i. e., won't I be able to play and run some games and save in them?
Yeah it's a real pity removals just ain't as it used to be. These days i don't feel my isos are as clean as before
using 8.1 everything is fine and dandy with removals, nice and clean, sfc reports no problems, etc, just great, with newer 10 versions however, it is after going down hill with each feature update :|
I used MSMG toolkit v7.9.7 to create a custom USB boot install. Everything seems to work fine, better than before really except the recent KB4054517 cumulative update won't install with the message, "We couldn't complete the updates". This is a fresh install. Other updates installed just fine. It seems others are having problems with this update too but for different reasons. I tried all the current known solutions including manually downloading the update from the catalog, deleting the file downloaded automatically by windows update, running the windows update troubleshooter, running DISM restore and repair, running system file checker. No dice. Same message, every time. I looked at the updates included in the KB4054517 file and they seem to almost entirely pertain to features that I removed completely with MSMG toolkit so they're basically updates for programs that do not exist on my install. I have paused Windows Updates for now but am wondering how to solve this issue going forward? I removed basically everything from the Remove menu in MSMG. I rely on and wish to continue relying on automatic updates in the future.
I'd like to ask 2 questions please in regard to MSMG images. I recently purchased an Acer Aspire VX15-591G-72U5. Using MSMG 7.9 I modified my Win10 15063.0 image. If I remove Windows Defender after installation when the laptop reboots it gets a BSOD stop code CONFIG INITIALIZATION FAILED, and goes into an endless BSOD loop. But if I use MSMG 7.3 it all works perfectly. On my desktops I've managed to remove all metro apps, all windows components, and for the advanced components - Cortana, Windows Defender and Store. I integrate .NET 3.5, the Win32 Calculator and Directx 9.0c, and also the Samsung NVMe drivers. This works fine. Until I want I use MalwareBytes when connected to a VPN using L2TP/IPSec. In that case, I cannot access any website. If I use an unmodified ISO Malwarebytes works fine. Is anyone aware of any issues/solutions with Malwarebytes on modified installations?
- Do not use toolkit 7.9 for your build. Last version that worked was 7.7. - Leave Defender in. Some AV (including Malwarebytes) interact with Defender. I got that with Avira. Cheers.
On LTSB 2016 with Defender removed I have no probs with Malwarebytes (nor with Avast Premier) but I don't use VPN
On RS3, which version should I use (I've been using the last)? I want to remove the Microsoft Quick Assist app, the Biometry, Internet Explorer, the Location, OneDrive, Skype and Windows Mixed Reality.
Have used version 7.9 to update, 16299.125 RS3 original version 16299.15 was used. Have also removed some apps, except store. Tried removing some windows features, on the same build. Tried using that for build for several weeks, results are not acceptable. Now using just remove apps, except store...and update 16299.125 Using The OS now, as I type this... my 2 cents Charl
For RS3 just got to wait until MSMG releases a new version for it. Using toolkit 7.9 will result in Store app and other apps not to work.
And I did remove the Microsoft Quick Assist App, Internet Explorer, OneDrive, Skype and Windows Mixed Reality but afterwards I used NTLite. I can open Skype and download and install other apps and also open apps I didn't remove.
