@Slayer9450 MSMG already tell several times that for use Toolkit correct need at least Windows 8.1 as host when working with Windows 10
I don't know how to make unattended installations, so how do I remove those entries ahead of installation? I personally do not want any of those Apps, even ShellExperienceHost, but wouldn't ShellExperienceHost be crucial for Start UI? Assuming I do not want ANY packages aside from Microsoft Edge, Calculator, and Store - which packages are SAFE to remove???
Tested with new insider build 16170 Removed all compoents shows error at install: one or more compoents occurs error, please make sure it is the right Source file. Can't figure out which one should not be removed....
Can you (or anyone) answer for me a few things (which I've not seen directly answered elsewhere in the forum): 1. What do you add or remove from LTSB using MSMG ToolKit? 2. Can MSMG be used to put the store back? 3. LTSB is already stripped to the bone, so what does MSMG ToolKit bring to the party? Thanks!
1. You can find the download links here on the board for 1607 LTSB. That's how I did it. 2. Added: Camara app, Edge, Alarms and Clock, Store, Store purchase app Removed (yes those packages exist): OneDrive desktop client Telemetry services Content Delivery Manager Cortana 2a. Yes, see point 2. 2b. See point 2 "Removed" Cheers.
yep Supern00b is 100% correct, still user can see big difference with speed/performance/stability principally in games after job done sometimes I think that seem super Windows 7 lol
Thanks for answering this question! I edited my last post and removed that first question because after writing it, I took one more stab at finding LTSB on here and found the 1607 LTSB link. But you've confirmed that this is the best source on here. Cool! I like the idea of starting clean and adding a few bits I want. At least it's a change of pace from starting with a bloated, fat pig and having to hack away to find the 'meat'! Thanks for letting me know those are still hanging about. Better gone than just 'dormant.' Cheers!
I removed the telemetry and it still asks me after the install if I want to turn off the location, speech recognition, diagnostics, etc. Is the first related to the latter? Is it normal for this build (starting with the 1703 version)?
Nope has not so much to do with telemety as it are settings no worries if the package for telemetry is removed it won't stick anyway
But, for example, if I don't uncheck the Location it will still be activated even though I removed telemetry (although it may be activated but not working). The same thing applues to the other settings, I think.
Hi there, I have a question, I only know half the answer by reading the forum but I would like to be sure. I use Windows 10 Redstone 1 RTM as base. When remove windows components I remove the following: Biometrics, ConnectApp, OneDriveDesktop, TelemetryServices, SkypeVideoApp, XboxGaming, ContactSupportApp, ContentDeliveryManager, EmbeddedFeatures, RetailDemoContent, TakeTestApp, QuickAssistApp, HyperV, Defender leaving behind: Maps, CortanaSearchApp, GeoLocation, HomeGroup, ParentalControls, AdobeFlash, EdgeBrowserApp, InternetExplorer, WindowsManualSetup, StoreClient, SystemRestore The question is can I remove more without breaking windows functionality or I do remove too much already? I leave Maps, Cortana, IE, Edge, Manual Setup, Store and Restore on purpose. Thanks in advance.
