@MSMG Hello. Thanks for creating this great tool. I'm using the ISO of Windows 10 LTSC 1809 and getting the following error. How can I fix it?
Hello, friends. 1) Unfortunately, no luck trying to remove bloatware and keep cumulative updates alive (offline, at least). Win10 20H1 build 450 (MSMG) -> Update 508 = Update was not installed (Error 0x8024200B) (Stack & .NET 4.8 are OK) Packages/Apps have been removed - everything, except: RemovePkgsList (NOT REMOVED): + Microsoft.VP9VideoExtensions + Microsoft.HEIFImageExtension + Microsoft.WebMediaExtensions + Microsoft.WebpImageExtension + Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller RemoveAppsList (NOT REMOVED): + VP9VideoExtensions + HEIFImageExtension + WebMediaExtensions + WebpImageExtensions + DesktopAppInstaller + SystemRestore + WindowsSubsystemForLinux + Wordpad Without or with Store included, the result was the same - cumulative update (offline) failed: +/- Microsoft.WindowsStore +/- WindowsStore The main goal is removal of the Defender, Edge and other bloatware / telemetry as well. Also, ability for offline installation of the *.appx, *.msixbundle, UWP driver packages is quite important. (Online Store will not be used, NEVER). What I missed to make OFFLINE updates alive? (Seems excluded "Defender" is the case, I think...) 2) Also I want to keep creating of the Restore point functionality. Should I keep "WindowsBackup" package also? Or may be some extra/other package(s)? ----------- I used removal lists (Toolkit method, not DISM).
No you can't only some of the Defender packages can be added that too you need to extract the packages from the original source image and again you may need to integrate the CU to update the Defender components. Instead you could start the removal process with a fresh image itself.
You can find the Package list for LTSC and Regular version in <Bin\Lists\ToolKitHelper_Templates> folder, use any text compare program to get the difference and make a new list. Now filter any component that breaks the functionality of other components and then use the Remove Package list using ToolkitHelper method to remove the components.
