Would it be possible to get the project logs to show the edition nr of the used mrpconfigurator? It could become handy when someone reports, that something is wrong and would have been ok when the correct mrpconfigurator.exe was used.
Have added the ini version check into the MRP code and the Creator's ini file output tweaked to reflect it. Those will be in the next release of MRP/Creator. Tested and working. So that is ready when i start the next beta testing... Starting soon. Project.log shows... Code: Detected Config File - Checking For User Options... Config Creator Version Used - v2.3 - Options Pre-Check Completed. Or if no version ie older or created manually... Code: Detected Config File - Checking For User Options... Config Creator Version Used - No Version Identifier Detected. - Options Pre-Check Completed.
Work has begun on MRP v83 Possible new Option , it's in experimental/testing stages -- results seem to show that the code does work... More details later...
yeah it ok, the information returned is what is from the API/System call so it may have an extra space. Just checked QT code on the Drive Model name section and there is no spaces added, so it must be in the actual name embedded in the drive's firmware.
Been working on the QT as well Nothing major, just so far a little tweak to the MSDM brand name bit, as there are some MSDM's about that dont have a brand name that we know! So now if it not in the database of known brands it will say 'Undefined -- {Namefound}', such as ALASKA, AMI, AWRD etc... Code: #11 MSDM Brand Name - Undefined -- {Test} From me messing about earlier changed DELL brand to Test , amongst other silly names. The only time it would matter would be if no DMI information or SLIC brand to use then the default windows theme would be used. Luckily these type of MSDM tables are not common - Yet.
For those wondering what the 'possible' new option is, it is a digital duct taping of Cortana (M$ Clippy mk2). I do not remove any files whatsoever that is not the purpose of MRP, the process i do is all registry and firewall blocks. The search works, but does not do any online searches, she is removed from Edge and Lockscreen, she no longer pipes up or interferes with what your doing. The long search bar on the task bar is also set to the magnifying glass icon - saves space there! Her process is still running as such but no data as far as i can tell in testing is leaked to anyone. As mentioned i do not remove any files regarding Cortana. There are only a few languages that Cortana is included in and there is a pre-check that only those in the list the option will work on all others the option is automatically disabled. This is experimental and if no one requires this option then i will remove it from the next MRP's Code and also the Creator's GUI. I was going to do something similar with Windows Defender, but that is a bit more tricky now so that will have to wait.
Config Creator has had a little makeover, new tool-tips look on mouse/pointer hovering over a option. Spoiler: Screen Picture
