Looks like the extra checking code added seems to have worked around the language glitches which was happening before. There may still be a few areas it trips up MRP/QT but hopefully they are just cosmetic and not affect the end results. I see ' Edition Chk2 : [ W2S = 7, ] ' in the debug log, which i was wondering if the routine used might get confused on some installations of Windows 7 (or older OS's) - have now corrected this as the returned value was almost correct just a bit short of "7, Professional" - luckily this variable is only used if other values failed to detect the actual Edition installed. One thing about DMI changes it not involve re-flashing the BIOS, -- if you can find a DMI editor that works on these newer motherboards!
MRP 93 is out of RC and moved to baseline. I will release it tomorrow evening as i have a mountain of scribbled notes to go through to put together the change log information into some sort of understandable text. Config Creator is now version 5.0 i changed it from v4.0 so that it would not confuse anyone that downloaded the v4 tester which was basically a updated v3.0 to have tabbed interface.
Query Tool 59.0 is also completed, a few small changes done mainly to some text and new placement of certain data. Also added a few new Reason Codes - not that you will see them unless a specific problem was detected. This too will be uploaded tomorrow so it will be a bumper release.
MRP 93.0 and Query Tool v59.0 have been uploaded and 2nd post download links, password and hashes updated. I know a bit short between last release and this one, but i am hoping it is one of the best so far. Spoiler: MRP93 Summary + New Config Creator v5.0 - Changed from v4.0 numbering to move away from the older v3.0 version as a test v4.0 was available for MRP 92.0, this gives it a clear slate to start from. Now has Tabbed sections for the options that allow easier finding of things than v3.x which was getting a bit awkward to work with. This also allows extra space for any new options added at a later time. The ini output now is aligned with the options which makes things easier for me to follow when adding any new options without having to search where it is and if it worked during testing. + Separated the User Folder and Control Panel icons 'show on the desktop' so they are two independent ones as before they was combined because of lack of space. + Control Panel icons view is now also independant so they can be set without having the Control Panel icon on the desktop. + Added option for Control Panel to Context menu with view options: Category, Icons and All Tasks aka 'GodMode'. Note this is in English wording as it is not possible without a lot of extra code to present it in other languages. There is a script in 'Optional\Misc_ExtraScripts\General..' folder that you can use instead of this option so that you can change the wording to your preferences. You will need to edit the script via Notepad or other text editor of your choice to change those details within the script. + Added option for thin window borders for Windows 8.x/Server2012{r2} -- (requires two logout/reboot cycles for it to work). Re-wording of some log text parts and general tidy up of some code routines. The Decompile.exe is larger due to extra items required to make the new options and future ones work. Technically you have 5 new options to play with. As always they are all off by default so you can make a choice of ones you wish to use or not. Tool tips are present when you hover the mouse pointer over to give you information what the option does. Spoiler: Query tool v59.0 summary Not a huge amount done this time as all my spare time was used working on MRP 93.0 to get sorted in time. + Fixed a small glitch that on the saved output it not always show the V/7 info. + Few other little code tweaks done to correctly show MSDM method used (if detected) and if any Grace time remaining for Vista/7/Servers.
Hey I cant remember if I asked this question before.. but Id like to add MRP in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, it has an $OEM$ folder but its not used. I wanna add it to MDT without having to mount the *.wims and add it. I know I could deploy a base image, add apps, choose to sysprep the damn thing and copy MRP project to right folders but I was hoping there's an easier way Is there an easy way to do this?
technically if the MDT can use the $OEM$ folder i don't see why it shouldn't work. Normally it just placed in the \Sources\$OEM$ folder on a standard ISO/USB but if it for W8.x/10 deployment then it would require a ei.cfg to prevent the setup from bypassing the oobe stage. Or the oobe.cmd could be renamed to setupcomplete.cmd or Firstlogon.cmd (i think that the name for it). Never used MDT so i cannot say for sure, but one of the above should work if it checks for that folder.
Thanks for answer. MDT ii a software for sysprepping/deploying Windows and with WDS (Deployment) its able to PXE boot and install Windows. It has an $OEM$ folder but it isnt really used anymore. There are copy scripts but I was thinkin if there was an easier way
The next MRP (94) will have some improvements: Tidier log file lines. Plus more detail if needed. New error checking on some routines. Updated Debug log file. Updated Reason Codes. That's already been done. Probably be more as time allows. You can tell i have already started on it.
been a long time since i have seen a Packard Bell computer! Before Acer took them over (or the name/patents), they only went up to Vista SLIC (2.0) then Acer used 2.1 on the last of the brand releases. I think Acer also have Gateway name too now. Nice to see it activated as Acer and branded Packard Bell.
