yes they can be but you must have at least one tile when installing or the menu screws up. I know it was mentioned how somewhere in the thread a while back. its a LayoutModification.xml or something... Once the OS is installed you can just delete that one tile and all being well no problems, its just during installation/oobe there has to be 1 tile. Attached is a $1 (you need to unzip the folder from it) and that is placed within $OEM$ so with MRP added it looks like: $OEM$ ->$1 (the above extracted folder) ->$$ (where MRP files are located etc) The attached file has the layout to have just one tile on the right side PowerShell.exe
Its sorted for the next MRP release It's actually just a shortcut m$ added to the startmenu area as OneDrive is usually 'pre-installed' on a untouched/untweaked installation. I admit was a oversight on MRP side. Now if the option to prevent OneDrive is enabled it will also remove the shortcut too. MRP does not remove the OneDrive.exe from the OS, only any references to install it, plus it is stored in several places, system32, syswow64 and SxS areas so i not touch any system files. Any new users created it may 'pre-install' it as MRP is for the main user only. To copy the 'tweaks' over to new users would involve editing files, such as NTUSER etc which MRP's policy is not to do. I would have to think about that...
@tcntad remember it will have just one 'powershell' tile showing after install. you can remove that manually after to have a clean menu if you have all tiles deleted during installation the start menu tends to stop working/responding after a while. Yet have one there and remove later it don't affect it, another 'bug' in the way it works lol.
MRP is at Internal Testing Stage 3, soon to go onto Release Candidate. New advanced option (experimental) but seems to work. More on that later once more testing been done.
hello @mxman2k i tried your tool and it is working well, was able to get any windows 7 edition activated automatically after i inserted the correct folder into source iso folder. tested all slics on VM from slic2.1 until 2.4 and got the same result. i see that the project does not include activation for 2003 server, would it be too much to ask to insert the license keys for this server edition as well into the project ? if i'm correct server 2003 uses SLP 1.0 so it should work as well.
MRP 104 is now at RC2 Note about the new advanced option: Transfer Options to New Users - If this option is used then MRP will attempt to copy most tweaks/options over to any new user created later. It is experimental but does seem to work, however please note not all theme elements will get copied due to the nature of how the OS works, most options/tweaks are transferred but not always the user account picture as that is within another area that would not be available at the time of the copy process. Cannot guarantee all Start Menu games/advert apps not appear but they have been suppressed as best as possible. Other news: Also if you select the option to prevent OneDrive installing that too is also prevented for any new user created and removes the redundant Start Menu's tile/entry too. MRPCreator v8.0 has been updated with the new advanced option, some tool tips information has also been updated and better alignment of sections. New Icons for the project's EXE files: MRP, Query Tool and MRPConfigCreator.
The77thQT on this laptop could not finish. It reaches 50% and terminates. Something about the memory. Defender does not have an antivirus program I did not install.
Hopefully the 78th QT will fix that Not sure why but some HP/Compaq and the odd Lenovo can abort the QT.
Query Tool v78.0 has been uploaded, 2nd post download link, password and hashes updated. Spoiler: QT 78.0 Summary + Redesign of the GUI and saved reports, added section headers. + Reworded line headers. + Should now show the CPU's 'Manufacturer ID String' such as GenuineIntel etc. + Updated Memory checking routines, some parts may not show on some OS's due to WMIC results not present. Hopefully should fix some of the odd aborts on certain makers ie HP/Compaq and Lenovo. + Added new 'QT' EXE icon. + Restructure of some sections of internal code.
