nope if win 7 build 7600 or below is detected then the task will be set to Off / disabled. Well it should of been, i bet i got the build number test wrong Hopefully fixed i got all confused in the smaller build numbers
Now on win 7 or even Vista kernels the defrag task should be disabled, (set to off on the defrag screen). Any build over 7 the task will be left alone to the OS's default (usually On). The above happens ONLY if the SSD Tweaks option is used.
ok 4th try If this not work then i am at a loss as now i check for build number and then a 2nd check to look at the kernel number (6.0/6.1)... I will make it work
During the Addon Manager: [SSDTK] SSD Tweaks - Sucess: The scheduled Defrag Task has been disabled. This will also stop any auto defragmenting of HDD's. It seems the task is not created at the first part of the oobe stage, but as i do a 2nd attempt later on it seems to be working.
I am trying to keep up with all the beta test requests MRP is moving on faster than i have expected: SSD Tweaks => updated option which is in testing mode still, - the 'Scheduled Defrag Task' - this is only turned off, (if the SSD Tweaks option is used), for Windows 7 and below (6.0/6.1 kernels) for Windows 8.0 and above the newer OS's are fully SSD aware and will only Trim SSD's and defrag HDD's. This option was added as 7 and below isn't fully SSD aware and could defrag them and cause more wear than necessary. Remember this will ONLY work if the SSD Tweaks option is used. {Advanced Option --> on first General OS tab ==> run the 'MRPConfigCreator' as Administrator to use Advanced options} Also testing the new Huananzhi DMI brand detection within the QT and MRP....
I know 7 is EOL early next year in general, but there are still Servers based on that kernel (S2008 R2) also the extended updates program, not forgetting the POS ones too which will have some support. Win 7 will be around for a while longer even if m$ wants to shovel it under the carpet. *edited*
Server 2012 is based on Windows 6.2 kernel (Windows 8.0). The Windows 7 based Server is Server 2008 R2, and will be EOL'd at the same time (along with the even older Server 2008 (Windows 6.0 aka Vista kernel). ESU and POS, that's true.
