After a short break i have resumed working on the next MRP Changes made so far: A few re-wordings here and there. Major change of filenames for MRP_Project.log and MRP_Debug1.log they will now be named once MRP has completed fully to: MRP_Debug1-[CYxxMxxDxx-VersionInformation].log MRP_Project-[CYxxMxxDxx-VersionInformation].log I made this change as basically when i am testing and i keep a log folder with them in, it makes it easier for me to have it already named with the details to 'see at a glance' than to have to remember to rename the files every time or risk a overwrite of a older log with same name. Yes, i am lazy in that respect but when you are trying to keep track of what log went to what test it makes sense to have it auto named with the right references. If MRP aborts the rename of the logs may not take place, i have tried to make sure they are as best as i can when such an error occurs. Majority of the time MRP will complete fully even with some minor errors, when/if they happen, during normal run-time. No new options added at this time as just sorting other minor bits out before any other major changes are added.
Have added a new W10 option: Re-Enable System Restore feature that is OFF by OS default usually. It is also set to create a restore point every 24 hours for the system drive which i believe was the way it used to originally be on Windows 7. If you use this option you can set other drives too within the OS as was used to later if required. I know not many would want to use SR but this allows easy setting 'out the box' and ready to use for those users of this feature. All still in testing but manual test of the routine works and i am quite sure during oobe the task etc can be setup too. An error will show in the log if a problem.
It appears in the very early stages of oobe the required SR Task is not available as i am guessing it is a non critical one at that stage. Have now moved the routine to the 2nd stage of MRP's operation, (Addon-Manager), fingers crossed all will work as intended.... Tests continue... EDIT: Working as intended now.
MRP is now at TC5 stage, sorry not posted anything for a few days, been busy with other things, new job etc, which has taken a fair chunk of my time recently. Have added four w10 options: Enable w7 style for: > Battery UI > Clock UI > Volume Control UI Also w8.x style Network UI 'flyout' Not sure how long those will still function as time goes on, but as quite a few have asked now about those simpler UI's i managed to get the tweaks sorted. More info later when time permits.
I could of set MRP to only allow setting of the batteryUI option when a battery operated device such as mobile/laptop/tablet chassis type is present, but i decided to leave the code as it is because if no battery operated device is detected the batteryUI is not shown anyway and so does no harm to a desktop or server as the tweak is technically ignored.
As a system admin in a business running several pcs or technician servicing various machines, I need MSDM keys and other details from OEM equipment to be saved in the report. I don't have an option to either not show keys or be saved in the report. Would be great to have it.
lol you're right, I ran an older, very old version. I ran latest one and it's saved separately. Either way I'd like to have such sensitive info included in the report instead of saving two files for each computer. Hey but that's me, only if not possible or too much of a hassle then forget my suggestion.
Yeah I already do that when needed but you know sometimes me or the darn touchpad are sloppy and struggle to copy paste the text, roflao. It's easier for me to just click one key to choose between to options, unless one key's not working to pick my choice hahahaha. Anyway my request is not important, ok? Just bugging @mxman2k a little bit. And to you of course, lol.
