It can be possible that the SLIC brand is used, but usually that is if there is no identifiable data within the DMI area which is a match for the brand database. Packard Bell, Hewlett-Packard and Compaq have always been weird brands to work with since i think the very first project was created. Another odd thing with Packard Bell when i was updating the MRP and QT database checks is that sometimes it 'sees' it as either Hewlett-Packard (HP branding) or Acer, (who took them over and their SLIC is used for Win7 devices later on in BIOS updates etc).
MRP is now at TC4 stage, progressing along at a decent pace when i have time. Added a General option: Show 'Status Bar' info line for Notepad and other Explorer windows. Usually it is not shown as default, but it can come in useful for those that like to know certain information quickly, however it does turn 'off' Word-Wrap, as you cannot have both options 'on' within Notepad windows - this does not affect Explorer windows. Note it also does not affect WordPad as that a different application.
MRP v127 is now at RC1 stage, although it not be ready for release until July so give me a few more days to make sure all new options function as expected and anything else that needs attention.
MRP v127.0 is now at RC2 stage. Progress Report 5 new options have been added. 4x General 'all' OS, 1x Windows 10 {RS1+} only. General: 1) Added 'WindowsDefault' selectable 'custom theme' so that the user can have MRP ignore ALL theme processing, which is like if there was no OEM's.7z file present. Saves having to delete that file and replace when no themes are required. 2) Show 'Status Bar' lines of data, for 'Notepad' and Explorer windows. Does NOT affect WordPad as that is a different application. 3) 'Enable Snipping Tool' Context Menu for easy access to this tool, it should be auto-translated into the native OS Language. 4) Show 'Disk Clean-Up' Context Menu for connected drives to allow easy access to this tool, should be auto-translated for the native OS Language. May have slight changes to wording under W10 as it uses a different method to access the tool. Windows 10: 5) 'Enable Long Paths' {RS1/14393+} - this allows paths longer than the limited 260 character limits. This is for NTFS and will not work on FAT32 file systems. As always these options are Off/unused by default. MRPConfigCreator has been updated to v32.0 to cover the above options. Testing continues and all looks good for a early July release. Query Tool v107.0 is progressing along too.
MRP v127 is at BC3 stage and the main coding completed, it just now a tidy up and fix any spelling gremlins to be done. Query Tool is also about sorted so that will be released soon too. All being well the main project will be ready for release before next friday. This timeframe gives me time to get things done within my work commitments which is busy at moment due to a local lockdown caused by idiots who ignored social distancing rules in parks etc this caused a spike in covid cases and the government stepped in to stop spread. Iam prevented to go onto that area of the city but im still are ok in the none affected areas to work. Not that iam in physical contact with anyone but i still obey restrictions and guidelines. On phone typing this at work before i set off home, so if mistakes in spelling sorry.
