I think it because the value is less than 1GB or has a amount after the point part? - Which gets zero'd to prevent limitations in standard cmd script.

The QT 109.5 test one should hopefully show the correct amount under (wmic) now , as that seems to have not used the VBScript section due to that string<>number convert error.

It seems that most Virtual Machine software have a tendency to upset the apple cart as we say on the grfx VRam side... :g: :D

VirtualBox has a maximum of 256MB dedicated vRAM. All of the video RAM is taken from system RAM. Slower but enough for the limited use a type 2 VM is good for.

I thought you could adjust the 'vram' via the VBox control/.ini or through the 'bios' like you can on VMWare to any amount? :g:

There again i have no idea how to do it on Hyper-V either as it been a few years since i used that, same with VBox.

256MB will trigger the auto zero as it below the 1GB threshold on that older Wmic routine used in 109.0, the one in 109.5 test should show the 256MB or 0.256 GB not sure which way it will decide on the reference :)

    Got it now :)

Its one of those 'auto' adjust on the fly like Intel does when you can only set 1MB or 8MB in some bios's and yet it can show like 2048 MB plus as shared in the display properties/utils.

MRP v130 is at Test Release 1 :)

So far two new options added for W10, one is a selection type between 4 settings, the other a simple tick box one.

These are being tested and i will give more details later, but things look very promising.

The test QT v109.5 soon to be v110.0 is on hold so i can concentrate on the main project's code at the moment.

More information on the new options for Windows 10 being tested...

1st one SelectWUpdatePauseMethod.JPG Click for larger view. You can see the multi-options for this.
Pause duration is about 30 years! -- However if you un-pause then re-pause it will most likely revert to the usual max 30 days etc again. It definitely stops updates so far as i used this tweak on a laptop last year with 1909 installed and it still paused for updates. :) - Just never got round to adding it into the project itself.

2nd one - Allow uninstallation of Chromium-Edge, this allows you to uninstall the new Edge via Programs and Features or Settings>Apps.

I tried to have it auto uninstall it but it not work as expected during oobe stages or even via SetupComplete way. So decided against that method and just set the registry parts to allow the user to uninstall manually.

The only weird glitch is on the 2nd option when using the VL TechBench ISO's it seems to 'ignore' the registry edits and the uninstall button is grey.. Using the uup dump way to create the ISO is ok.

    Testing continues...

Will have to rework the vbscript again so that if the AdapterRam item is not present then to set as zero or N/A...

At least the wmic back up worked. :D

That system is truly crazy-go-nuts. WMIC runs fine, so, I'd prefer if that runs instead of the VBS minus AdapterRAM.

:) it will auto run the WMIC routine if the vbs part fails to try and obtain a value.:)

I have a laptop (old HP Nx7xxx type) that refuses to run the QT it just aborts instantly, have no idea why, there again i think the motherboard is on the way out, usb's not work, lan is intermittent and wifi card is fussy in that it not like WPA2. It just a door stop at moment (literally) :p

    Project(s) Updates

MRP 130 is at Test Candidate 6 now, progressing slowly but surely :D

QT 110 is being worked on when i get a few mins here and there and is almost at completion.

There has been a few hiccups along the way in both project parts but hopefully overcome those little hurdles as best as can be with my limited time between shifts.

    For Windows 10:

The 'Pause Feature/Build' updates can be a bit hit and miss on 1703/1709 and builds before due to the 'End-Of-Life' updates that may of been sneaked in prior to the last CU/Updates so it may still attempt to force update.

But if you use the 'Pause Both' option and then manually install any 'Quality' updates later then the forced Feature Upgrade *should* not happen...

On RS4 (1803+) hopefully the Pause/Defer Feature upgrades should be target locked to the version installed, so if you installed 1809/RS4 and used the 'Pause Feature/Build' or 'Prevent upgrade to later build' options it should stay on 1809/RS4.

*However it all depends on any 'Quality' updates installed as they may have some time-bomb to force build upgrades when the 'End-Of-Life' trigger has been met then the settings used in the registry may be overwritten, i will try to keep up to date with anything that may need adjusting but it may be a loosing battle!

Remember the Windows Update mechanism is always being tweaked to make it harder to prevent m$ doing the updates, so the pause/defer options may get more limited on each update cycle.
