Sadly i cannot answer the reason why, i guess m$ are exercising their right to alter things in their code base as they see fit. As we know this practise is shady at times and any original documentation is not always updated to reflect what been adjusted etc. I do try my best to keep the project 'on the ball' but at times m$ moves the goal posts and we are left wondering why!
I have this for you if you want, to manually unhide ProgramData folder. I have a Add_Hidden_items_to_context_menu.cmd or .reg file. Then you can hide or show everything with a right click. So tell me if you want the file?
@bundyal I found a fix adding "attrib -s -h %ProgramData% /s /d" in setupcomplete.cmd Yes I'm interested to get your file, you can send me it via PM. Thanks for your help ! @mxman2k We all know that you are doing your best with this tool. That's why we're testing it and report all problems, even if there are not really big ones !
if somebody wants to unhide ProgramData on 19042.xx build try to remove mrp $OEM$ from sources inside the iso & after installation go to FolderOptions-View then under Hidden Files & Folders Select Show Hidden Files Folders & Drives . Now Cross Check ProgramData is visble at OS drive Root. But if somebody used MRP $OEM$ inside Sorces with user config then after selecting these options as i have told wont do any change to ProgramData Directory as it will be hidden . IDK why & what MRP config file has done so that ProgramData Directory cant be unhide after selecting show hidden Files Folders & Drives in FolderOptions View. Even Dev Answer was not found to be good to my query . its ok its his software so let him do according to his needs & expectations.
If you mean just for branding purposes, i am in the process of a branding tool to change the oem logo and information data, it is in beta testing at the moment. Mrp itself is only for when installing of a fresh os.
I am glad to hear that, after completing the OEM Sources, i am planning to compress the wallpapers without compromising the quality. We have good days ahead
I have put together a logo and wallpaper folder that i will hopefully be supplying with the branding tool. So far it is 40mb uncompressed alone. The tool is at v2.3 and about ready for public beta as it is stable enough.
For those that want to show those 'Super Hidden' files and folders i have added a new 'General OS' option for the next MRP release (132.0) to show them, used along with the 'Show Normal Hidden' option you should be able to see ALL files/folders, however m$ may have some special folders/files with certain permissions that you may not be able to see! Also added a 'Toggle on/off' vbscript that will switch between 'Hidden' (default) or 'Shown' on each run of the script. This script should allow you to show 'ALL' possible previously hidden files, you just need to refresh the explorer window (F5) or stop/restart explorer.exe for full effect.
