Have also added the Sapphire brand to MRP's DMI checking plus into the INI Creator so it can be custom selected if required. Had to fix a few entries in the theme files for Sapphire so they point to the correct named bmp/logo files etc when i added into the OEM's.7z file.
I will pm you a link tomorrow , because no access to my pc at the moment, as at work for the night shift. Hopefully MRP should correctly theme etc as normal for that added brand.
@JanCerny PM sent with link(s). --------------------------- For BetaTesters have also uploaded latest MRP/QT files to usual place if you wish to test Adds the new Sapphire branding/detection. Fixes a few little issues here and there. 12th Feb --> Uploaded replacement Creator as forgot to check for Sapphire brand when reloading the ini into it.
The script is standard usual 'assign' type as can be found with most scripts that does that purpose. The trick to actually force set them is that I use a 3rd party tool to set the internal hashes that otherwise not truly set the associations. They would get set when you use the long winded way via settings but when you edit registry you can't set those hashes. After a lot of research, i could not change that part but found the little gem that does recalculate the hash. As im not on my pc or laptop at this moment i can't link to the useful tool. When i get access to my pc's a bit later i will give the link.
I had limited success with setting the 'default' browser side of the tool, but that may of been because i had not 'pre-installed' the browser beforehand, so you need to have the browser installed (or program) and then set the required associations if you are going to go that route. I was going to use it to set say Chrome , Firefox or other browser as 'default' via a new MRP option, but i decided not to go further because of all the 'unknowns' etc...
sorry, i had edited the reply a few times before hitting post and some text had vanished which i had not noticed. SetUserFTA.exe is the tool i have used. As shown on the web link it can do a few other bits too.
Just tidied up the Sapphire brand badge bmp's so they more central and not get 'cropped' due to win10/11's circular account picture. The updated oem's.7z file has been uploaded for beta testing a little while ago.
Uploaded RC1 of v143 MRP for beta testing. Due to a lot of things going on that is taking a lot of my spare time, MRP will just be a bug fix one this month, there is the new Sapphire brand added, sadly no new options as yet. Have updated a few old ones here and there but nothing thrilling to mention. QT will also be a small bug fix release too. Time has been my enemy this month and hoping i can spend more effort on the project(s) for next month.
Managed to squeeze in a new MRP w11 option As i saw this registry tweak on MDL's Win11 tweaks section i thought it be a useful one to add. Remove the new 'system requirements are not met' type desktop watermark, note that using the option will just remove the watermark line for the current user and any new ones created later. It does not do anything else internally and a later OS update 'may' reset this registry edit when doing any checking. Testing continues....
