I read up about it (desktop stickers) and also thought what a silly idea!

    Why m$ , Why?

So i added the option to disable it before it even appeared/added into the OS :D

phone link working now, and also start menu is full but with a cost lol,
what i did is not doing these tweaks: prevent 3d party apps download and install, and the prevent ms teams from download and install
also i didn't remove two packages: CEIP and Telemetry Asimov, i will make another iso with those two packages deleted and see again
also i have to try again but with checking the options block ads and disable telemetry from MRPConfig
    lot of work lol

Testing does take ages, the amount of hours and days installing , fixing , reinstalling i shudder to think over the years i have worked on mrp.

Frustrating at times, but once got something to do as it is told, the rewards outweigh the hassles.

Have no idea why search failed, maybe something outside of mrp causing it?

removed CEIP and Telemetry Asimov and thankfully phone link still works
so now i know that the tweak of preventing auto download and install of 3rd party apps from MSMG that caused the issue of both phone link and blank start menu,
after checking disable telemetry and block adverts from MRPConfig, phone link again not working, so i think i will need to wait for MRP 147,
but even though with those two tweaks i still got the start menu filled with bloatware like the screenshot i shared before,
and i still have to see why search is not working in settings :-\ for a start i enabled and started wsearch service but no result

what does this option do ?
Windows 11 -- Make the Start Menu like the 'Classic' Windows 10 style. Ignored on any OS not Windows 11.

I think that option been removed for next MRP as i can t find it, basically it tried to make the w11 start menu look like the slim w10 one. Not work now as m$ changed the start menu stuff (again)...

I have pm'd you a test decompile to see if it has fixed your issues with the Phone etc when block os adverts is used, it was working ok on my tests.

From my notes i have in MRP's REM statements :)

If you disable the MsCtfMonitor task you will not be able to type in Search/Edge/Apps or Settings. Leave Enabled!

To make sure the task is running:

    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\TextServicesFramework\MsCtfMonitor" /Enable

As i mentioned a lot of apps, services and tasks are interlinked so it hard to remove one part without affecting something else.

the slim start menu for windows 10 works fine with windows 11 it removes all bloat apps and keeps only settings and explorer,
i wanted to know if there is a way to keep other shortcuts like calculator, paint, etc that are not bloatware, or maybe it's just all or nothing :-\
you will not believe what causes the search problem, it was cortana, i suspected it may have something to do with it so i didn't remove it this time with msmg,
    and surprisingly voila

The w11 start menu is really fussy to get to clear them off, well via OOBE, it can be done editing the WIM aka via MSMG etc but during setup it not possible because m$ detects something wrong and shovels random icons to fill it up. So as i can t have totally empty, had worked out that 2 was the safe way to prevent triggering the filling process, i chose Settings and File Explorer as they will always be in the OS, Notepad can be removed and would still leave a tile on the menu...

I thought cortana and search was separated in w11 :g: seems like m$ sneaked them back together!!

The w10 start menu is easier to edit to be clear , but w11 one isn't and is such a b****d took me several attempts to get it to be remove majority of the tiles and leave two useful ones.

W11 start menu uses a xml, json and start.bin -- see what i mean about being a pain to get to work properly via oobe/setup.

W10 is just a xml and it not same as used on w11 due to changes in the way w11 s/menu works.

i think removing the shortcut from desktop is somewhat important for some people who like to have their desktop neat and clean, but from the taskbar i don't think it matters because it will show up anyways when you open the browser,
personally i use chrome and brave but i don't mind it even if i don't use it, it's integrated with windows that even if you manage to uninstall it, it will still show in the installed apps list with no icon
