MRP v153 is ready and just sorting the changelog etc, but have a couple of jobs to do so it will hopefully be uploaded/released later today when i get in.
Qt125 wont be worked on now, no one asked to fork it. There again it not as easy to understand my coding
Hopefully fixed the initial save location registry entry on first run. Forgot to set the registry if the flag was not set
Uploaded v1.01 of the GUI Query Tool -- Should of now fixed the initial save entry in the registry on the first run.
Uploaded MRP v153.0 baseline 2nd post updated with download link, password and hashes. Spoiler: MRP153 Changelog Updated the 'Unlock Defender' options code, should no longer cause OS issues, but note that CU updates may have an adverse affect on performance with File Explorer. Note using this option that the system tray icon can vanish and reappear randomly, no idea why but it not affect the operation of Defender. The 'Disable Defender' option has now been removed due to changes in the OS kernel that can cause major issues with OS performance if Defender is disabled. Added 'Disable UAC' option, this is for those that not require this to be active and this will switch it to off and no notifications about it should appear. Use at your own risk! Added 'Disable SmartApp Control' -- Smart App Control is an AI-powered security feature that intelligently blocks untrusted and unknown apps and prevents unwanted programs and adware from running on a PC that causes slowdowns or displays too many ads. However this can also block running of perfectly OK programs too. Once this has been selected and the OS installed, you CANNOT revert it, only a re-install of the OS can undo this so choose to disable this wisely! Added '[TI] Run as a different user' Context menu entry to allow running/opening of files/folders etc as 'Trusted Installer', this will be auto translated but as 'TrustedInstaller' is not found in the translation stringtables i had to use the 'run as different user' item instead, the [TI] icon should hopefully indicate what it means. This uses the RunAsTI.reg file by BAU/AveYo with slight alterations for MRP so that it uses translated C/T menu titles and if the system drive is not C: it corrects that too so that the script operates correctly. Note: When using 'Unlock Defender' some other options will be automatically set as off/unchecked and greyed out in the creator this is because those options when selected and the 'Unlock Defender' option is in use can cause some stability issues within the OS. MRP will also automatically deselect those other options internally if the 'Unlock Defender' option is used. Most you can change within the Settings App later if you wish but you may experience performance issues later on. Misc code tweaks and wording has been done for the project's log entries as required. The Defender system tray icon vanishing act seems to be only on Windows 10....
Have been informed that MRP 153 did not run, i have just checked and the oobe.cmd has two lines that need to be removed As i am not at home i cant fix and upload it until tomorrow... The two lines that need to be removed are: Code: if not exist "%systemroot%\panther" mkdir "%systemroot%\panther" if not exist "%systemroot%\panther\unattend.xml" copy "%systemroot%\setup\scripts\unattend.xml" "%systemroot%\panther\unattend.xml" It was in my own testing of a unattend xml method and i forgot to remove the lines from the oobe file. Or use a oobe.cmd from v152
When i built up my new pc, the master mrp baseline folder got corrupted and so i used the one off my usb stick i was testing with. As it been ages since that time i forgot that i edited the oobe.cmd file. Rare i touch that file normally as only decompile and oem's get modified/updated. I will fix it first thing in the morning and reupload the fixed version. Will be same version and password as mrp itself not changed. Sorry for the mess up.
Fixed oobe.cmd and reuploaded MRP v153 Updated 2nd post's download link and hashes. Password unchanged.
First time i seen a surface laptop for a long time. At least it picked surface for the theme properly.
If i remember a long time ago mrp would pick microsoft as branding on a surface device. I got it sorted if surface detected first but i think the person never got back to me if it worked or not. In my testing i managed to use a dummy dmi with same details and it was picking surface correctly so i assumed all woukd be ok. Luckily it seems to be.
