On the majority of Insider/Preview OS's MRP cannot lock on to some registry keys or areas and so the message below appears at the top. This usually indicates that m$ have forcefully locked those areas from alteration.
    Code:
MRP was unable to obtain permission of certain registry areas [DE_I1, DE_S1], some User selected options/features may not work as expected.
In the above example 'DE_xx' is for defender's 'exclusion path' section of the registry which for some reason m$ really protects that area...

Sometimes m$ blocks another part which i use to store flags for options that allow them to survive a reboot which then allows MRP to continue later setting the options the user has selected, in this case i use another method to save those flags, (simple file), which could get erased, (rare), during the reboot.

    Nothing major to say :D

Only that m$ seem to be placing weather info, (probably a lot more later too), on the lockscreen in w10 and w11, the current 'prevent lockscreen notifications' should still work as that technically stops all notifications (for the time being).

Just made a test installation of Canary 26040, using the *new* "Setup Experience". The MRP files are in place on the media (policies, no branding), yet, they are completely ignored. No logs are created, either. Is the new overhauled Setup not complete, yet, or is there an adjustment required?

Insider builds have usually had odd things happen with MRP, it makes me wonder if M$ are looking for the project and then blocking it.

It could be that new co-pilot in setup being operative to ignore the early oobe.cmd stage but i have no idea.

If MRP is not run then no logs area created - this usually indicates the oobe.cmd file was not 'called or run' by windows setup where the project is run from.

Sadly not had time to download and test the latest insider builds myself.

Uploaded mrp 155 bc1 for beta testers. :)

Updated 'Expand explorer ribbon' routine so it works again on w11 and hopefully latest insider, until m$ changes things again.

It also switches code depending if win10 or 11 is installed and will adjust if the system drive isn't C: ;)

    **edit**
There is a fatal code error in bc1 i must of missed a closing ) in a if block. Will fix tomorrow.

Examined the code update and sure enough i missed the closing ) bracket in the IF check routine

Easily done, as anyone who does batch scripting has surely has had that happen and then spent ages wondering why your script crashes out...

Anyway i have fixed that code area and also modified Notepad++ to clearly highlight the ( ) brackets so i can see the matching pair(s), i not knew it had that facility as they call them brace(s) which i thought was only for the { } curly type used in Powershell etc.

I will do a test install shortly and upload BC2 for the beta testers soon as i am happy it not crashes again. :)

Windows 11: I got a Explorer - Unknown Hard Error on the first reboot after the desktop appeared, but clicked OK and everything seems OK the ribbon is expanded etc... It not done it since on reboots etc so im guessing the ribbon expansion tweak the OS not like, so use the ribbon expansion option with caution on later w11 installs as m$ may patch that loophole again.
